CBR 250R vs. Joel modded R15.
Interesting isn't it. Am wondering which one would be more fun as well as capable regular bike. Like going to office and a few interstate runs and mountain climbs. I know the CBR is priced more than the R15 but i think Joel's complete kit would even that out. But is that a good bet, considering in some time CBR will have its own share of performance enhancement products. What say?Tags: None

This is going to be a fantastic thread for sure & interestingly I'd thought about it long back too
Any day, to win the argument, I'd say Joeled R15 will not be a match for even modded C250R; Joeled C250R will be mind blowing & it would be even easier than any other comparative segment.
Now to answer the point on...
Stock C250R scores on 120 Kmph effortless cruising, long life, service backed up by HMSI & to smoke out few other competition; there're even some videos showing C250 topping to 165+ Kmph on a slight tuning (claim to have tuned for top speed over mileage, not sure what they do on a FI enginemore fun as well as capable regular bike. Like going to office and a few interstate runs and mountain climbs.
). Also it looks like the rev limiter has been cut off at 10.5K & rumors that it can top to 12.5K & remember, there's room for Joeling this one too but for the moment lets keep those aside.
Joeled R15 will also score on 120 Kmph effortless cruising, probably a long life, service backed up by, may be Joel or YMSI
; there're even rumors that R15 these days aren't upto the quality of what it used to be during the initial periods. Top speed on this could be upto 150 Kmph probably? The tires of R15 are certainly an inferior to those on C250R. The real fun comes when a C250R or something equivalent tries to smoke of this R15 which would certainly raise the brows for sure, now that's something priceless
To sum up, as a stock lover, my pick would be a C250R for its comfortable seating posture that scores much better over moded R15.Last edited by aargee; 03-01-2011, 06:21 PM.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

If you already own a bike and are planning this one as an addition...... go for joel's r 15 mod. That guy did some pretty awesome stuff to the bike. The mods are a little expensive to maintain but if you wanna shock the balls out of someone showing off on his new cbr 250, buy this. plus it will be a very potent track bike.sigpic

why would you want to shock someone's balls for getting another bike which you dont approve?..Originally posted by ankitshringi View Postif you wanna shock the balls out of someone showing off on his new cbr 250, buy this.
this kinda reminds of some people who keep trying to race other folks when others might be goin a lil fast just cause of being in a hurry..:/sigpic

Mindless thread, the CBR is yet to be launched here, (except Navnish I dont think any one has tested the CBR) and the thread creator is asking us to compare the two.
I wonder how the mods let in such threads. I would say, lock this thread till the CBR is launched, this is just going to create another fighting thread mine is better than yours.

The wrath of the Gods of Honda quarter litre (GoHQL-pronounced as Go-KILL
) are soon to be upon you. Run while you still can.
For the last couple of months GOHQL have been hunting the Ninjas and now this. You have now made the hunter the hunted.
FOr office you shouldnt have problem with either, interstate runs would be better on the Honda. THe twisties would be better on the J-15!!http://www.californiasuperbikeschoolindia.blogspot.com

This is a pointless thread IMHO. CBR250R isn't here just yet.Originally posted by aargee View PostTo sum up, as a stock lover, my pick would be a C250R for its comfortable seating posture that scores much better over moded R15.
From my experience the cost of maintaining the mods on the R15 are no more than maintaining a stock R15. An oil and filter change is all I've incurred in about 4000 kms of running since the upgrade so far.Originally posted by ankitshringi View PostThe mods are a little expensive to maintain but if you wanna shock the balls out of someone showing off on his new cbr 250, buy this. plus it will be a very potent track bike.--------------------------------

how long did you have to think to come up with this thread Mate... anyway the R15 is modified... it might be equal to stock CBR... but dont forget the CBR can be modified too... but yet the R15 will have to scream to reach its top performance... while in the CBR its gona be effortless.... its obvious... its a 250 mate!!!
WHo says you need a woman to feel what a ride is like???... get a bike instead!!! ***Honda Hornet**

@Mods: Can you please lock this thread!
The CBR250R is not even here yet for display, & people are comparing it to a modded R15 (which again has been ridden only by 1 member here).
Another speculation thread, by a new name.
Topic Locked.

Ohhh boy, Ohhh boy!!! WHY???
Wasn't CBR vs Ninja enough for you guys??? Wat next after this??? CBR250R vs GT650R???
CBR has not even seen the Indian road and here we have started comparison. On what basis can we debate or give opinions??? By looking at some pics and videos???
It's pointless to talk about this at this moment. I request Mods to lock this thread and reopen only after CBR is launched.Sudeep P Nambiar

Just saw this thread now.
Its a pointless topic, unless its proven. Both the machines belong to different classes and you cant deny a few advantages that a bigger motor has. The CBR250 has a really wonderful engine and I'm waiting to get my hands on one. The R15 is the best-in-class engine in its segment and unmatched and in a modified trim, can match and beat higher class machines. Its indeed a lot of value for money and a lot of fun too when souped up.
Now here is what I'd say. If you have that extra bucks to spare - go for the CBR250 (Its an amazing machine)
If you are a person who wants a wolf-in-sheep's clothing package - then go for the R15 and soup it up. Its more fun.
Very soon, I will start pimping a CBR250 and then it will be an interesting comparo.
As of now, yes a modified R15 WILL beat a stock CBR250 quite badly.sigpic
