Went to Hero Honda showroom, the build quality is ok but assembling is bad. One can see that looking at the wires, here and there. Also one thing worries me separation of Honda from Hero after 2014.

I am bit inclined towards FZ16 (my brother seriously want this). Only concern for me is the FE. If I get 40-45kmpl then it is ok, otherwise will create a problem. Build quality and assembling looks good.

hai alto. i own fzs and according to me, if u have thought about fuel consumption dont go for fz. because mine returned around 40-45 during run-in period. but now it gives only 30-35. apart from mileage it scores full mark in all other criterias.Originally posted by alto View PostI am bit inclined towards FZ16 (my brother seriously want this). honda engines are always smoother than yamahas and previously i own cbz xtreme. also have good service network than yamaha. go for hero honda if u like it and that seperation problem no need to worry. i think it dont give u any trouble.2012 HONDA CBR 250 R C-ABS

Imagine if the Bajaj Pulsar was called as Bajaj Ghoda (Horse) would it sell as much as it has??Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)

Also one thing worries me separation of Honda from Hero after 2014.Well i own an FZ, and i am absolutely in love with it... Mileage wise if you ride it sanely under say 65kmph you will get 40 -45 kmpl... i have managed to extract upto 49 kmpl but had to ride it on splendor mode.. i.e. like a 70 yr old uncle, changing gears and accelerating only upto 4000rpm (Did it only once in the name of scienceOriginally posted by satheez_7 View Posthai alto. i own fzs and according to me, if u have thought about fuel consumption dont go for fz. because mine returned around 40-45 during run-in period. but now it gives only 30-35. apart from mileage it scores full mark in all other criterias.

)... however, this bike is so tempting that i always end up revving its nuts off but i am still fetching 37-38 kmpl on my last long ride to alibaug, where i had constantly maintained a speed to 95 kmph+.
The engine is always rev happy... and butter smooth and the build quality is also good...no body noise even after 8000+kms and 4th service approaching in my case in barely 6 months old bike... But do remember post 90 kmph it loses its breath and takes a bit of time to hit top end.. i have hit 106 (on speedo) at palm beach road, mum with a pillion and that too without crouching (Fully geared ofcourse!!). This bike is an absolute blast riding on the corners and gives you so much confidence that you end up kneeling quite a lot... Please do remeber that rear fat tyre means more traction on the road hence, lower mileage figures in comparison to other bikes in the same 150 cc category... Yamahas have always been performance driven machines and not for mileage... so 38kmpl+ on such fat rear tyred bike is quite commendable..
@satheez... i believe if you end up revving the first 3 gears to 7000 rpm and then the rest 2 gears under 4.5 -5,000 rpm.. FZ WILL NOT give you mileage... otherwise if you do ride her gently and still fetching only 30 - 35 kmpl then my guess is that your carburator has been set on richer setting... tell them to tone it down and you should start seeing better figures... but make sure they don't put it on lean setting otherwise it would have a negative impact on the bike.

It is a good bike but then the looks are a complete downer.. don't know what the heck honda was thinking when they designed it... i am not too sure about honda after sales service, probably you can have a peak at ownership experience thread, honda dazzler on this site and get a better idea. Owners do provide you a better insight about owning a bike...A quote by a toilet, " use me well, keep me clean, i would never tell anybody whatever i have seen.." :P

I shall ride mostly within the city, u can say more than 90%. Because I live in proper city. So not much highway riding, and seeing the traffic within the city I can easily say that there would not be much scope where one can ride more than 60kpmh. I think mostly it would be 40-50. Therefore as per shv18 said 40-45kmpl is possible(with FZ).

@alto - See it s not like you re going to get the best Fuel Efficiancy by staying in the 40 - 50 KMPH range on any bike. FE depends on anticipating your braking well in advance and avoiding sudden stops, being gentle with your right wrist, the tuning of the bike and what kind of Rev range you ride the bike in. I own a FZ-S for the past year and a half and I can tell you that when it comes to city commutes that bike is a boon to me. It s very capable of nimbly making in an out of tight spaces and makes cutting thru traffic a breeze. And I have test ridden the dazzler and that too is a very capable power commuter like the FZ. But the two vehicles are a world apart. But very good indeed but very diffrent in Charecteristics. To draw an anology the FZ can be compared to a very sucessful Rock musician whereas the Dazzler is like a sucessful Neuro Surgeon. Both very capable and sucessful but in different ways. Also I guess the Dazzler beats the FZ hands down on Fuel Efficiency. Honda engines are inherently frugal whilst YAMAHA engines are kinda thirsty.Originally posted by alto View PostI shall ride mostly within the city, u can say more than 90%. As for the question about why there are not too many Dazzlers
a) HONDA has long waiting periods of upto 30 - 45 days and this could be putting off prospective customers.
b) It s too sporty for the econo commuter customers and a bit too commuterish for the Power commuter customers in my opinion so that could be affecting it's sales with the later kind of customers going in for the Unicorn the Dazzler's own stablemate, and the former type of customer choosing the RTRs the FZs etc.
c) HONDA have not been too aggressive either with marketting the DAZZLERs they seem to be quite happy with the gearless scooters filling their coffers.
Bottomline, The Dazzler is a very good bike in it's segment addictively smooth is what I felt when I test rode it recently. A good buy considering your requirements.Last edited by yamahatrooper; 03-17-2011, 06:11 AM."I set out running but I take my time, a friend of the devil is a friend of mine. Yup it is doable... provided you ride it sanely.. which i don't think is possible... as your hands would be always itching to throttle it to the max!!Originally posted by alto View PostI shall ride mostly within the city, u can say more than 90%. but under average circumstances, 39-45kmpl is doable...
But if you are looking for hard core commuting and extract the maximum mileage then Dazzler is a better option.

Very true bro, i can add the more time required in attaining the top end speed also to the cons, but mind you its very negligible compared to the same class.Originally posted by RanjithMN View PostFZ dosent have it,dont know aboit Dazzler.
