In my view dont be obsessed with the cubic capacity of the bikes... Rather figure what kind of bike you can ride and you want to ride and put your money there.
Thanks, well said and Its true no doubt, but not possible for me at least.....

I heard it's 30 BHP or something. So guess straight line performance would be somewhere between CBR 250 and Ninja 250.

Most of the CBR owners are buying CBR due to the higher price tag of Ninja. If Ninja would have been locally made and was sold for around 2l, people would have preferred N250 (no offence, just my thought).

Talking about future, speculations are there for a Suzuki, Yamaha (both nakeds) & Hyosung(both naked & faired) bringing on their 250 cc machines soon. KTM also would launch 350 & 690 within a couple of years. These bikes would give a big bike feel(atleast to me, you may differ in opinion).

So currently, N250 seems to be best bet for you. It has power, looks & decent average.
I am totally agree to you, i was actually trying finding a bike as a N650r, i think its a most value for money bike till in Indian market if u need a bike with feeling a SBK u can buy it and i was trying to finding a bike somewhere around 450-500cc as same value for money bike which can fulfill my requirement (Honda CBR250r is also a best buy) and now a lot of search & suggestion if i dont find any suitable bike for me in range of 400-500cc, now the conclusion for me is lets buy the straight forward N650r or for the timing i can buy the CBR250r in 1.5l and then after almost 2yr i will able to buy surely a Ducati or yamahaR1...

That is what exactly i was thinking, 650cc is enough for me because i never ridden any bike more than 250cc, else i dont need a real SBK right now because i want to ride it on daily basis with weekend touring on my buget also, so finally N650r is the final bike settling in my mind, i cant wait for 1 or 2 yr for KTM or Yamaha for there bike launch in between 250 to 650cc and a SBK i cant ride on daily basis which i want to, else i can buy one if i would go for a bank finance...so now i am preparing myself for N650r....
