  • Need help choosing my first bike

    Hi guys,
I am 26 and my height is 5'5.My office is 14km from my home and currently I am using public transport. Now I am thinking of getting a new bike for daily ride to my office but I have no experience in biking (only bicycle). Is it alright to go for a geared bike for first time? if yes plz suggest me a bike.It should be easy to ride, stylish, comfortable, and ok for rough road condition.

    Budget- upto 80,000
    Fuel efficiency- above 40

Learning won't take much time.Even so, why not a scooter? Unless you are hell bent on buying a motorcycle. If that's the case, you'd be better off with a 125 or 150..
It all begins with a thumb-start -- Oh, wait, I forgot the kill-switch

see there is two aspects of learning motorcycle riding-
1.to know the basic operation of clutch, gear, brake, which would take hardly 7 days.

2.to keep yourself safe on road, which includes proper braking technique,maneuvering,cornering,road-sense etc which takes time and some of us are still learning.

for newbie with that kind of budget choose fz,a tailor made for beginners.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
                #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

Make a decision between choosing gear and gearless.
Consider the traffic condition and signals on your 14 KM ride.

You can try out (at least learn if not buy) with Honda Shine. Its one of the easiest bikes to ride. Body is light also. Later on you can try bikes like Pulsar 135 or Stunner. If you want bigger bike go for Unicorn Dazzler. Sz-r is also a good option for you. fz will be heavier and lesser on FE. Pulsar 150 will be heavy for you. Same with Gs-150R.
                    Whats there in a signature?

I like stunner but there is no kick start in it...also like Fz-S but its looks heavier. Is FZ-S ok for first timers?

FZ is very much ok for first timers. It looks big and heavy but feels light. FE is highly sensitive. You can get from 35 to 60kmpl depending on how you ride.
The SZ-R is also a good option.
