  • RX 135 4s,RX 135 5s,RX 100?

Hey guys.this is my first thread.I am 19 years old, going to buy my first bike.My budget can be stretched up to 35k[including restoration] And I decided to go for either RX 135 4s,RX 135 5s,RX 100.RXG is omitted due to its unpopularity and RXZ is omitted due to its high cost.[In kerala price starts from 50k].
So I was collecting information from last 2 months from many forums, but still confused.I will use this bike only on week ends and occasional trips to my college[60 km from home].I love to ride,so which one is better when considering sheer riding pleasure? What are the advantage one has over the other?I want great performance.Which one is more appropriate for performance modifications?Top speed does not matter much, because in my locality due to poor roads, maximum speed attainable on bike is 100km/hr.
    0-60 timings,pick up matters a lot.
Read somewhere RX 100 is a better performer and fun to ride than all other bikes listed here.Is that true? Will fitting digital CDI,expansion chamber, etc. in RX 100 be as good as fitting them on RX 135?I plan to do some performance mods in future.
What would be the cost of these bikes in kerela?
People are asking 26k for even a not so good RX 100.
My question is,can someone please provide a detailed test drive report of these bikes. Also in terms of ride quality, is it worth to convert 135 4s to 135 5s?

      1. You are on tight budget and I am not sure if you can buy+restore any of these machines. I don't know the prices in Kerala but from what I read on forums they seem to be as costly if not costlier than Bengaluru.

2&3. Not sure what you would call riding pleasure. If its a high+free revving engine then 135 5s is the bike for it.

      4. No personal experience in modding but from what I read on forums, 135 4s/5s are most mod friendly.

      5. If your road can allow 100kmph then its not too bad All these models can do a speedo indicated 100kmph. 135 5s will do it with ease and 135 4s with fat con will do it after lot of struggle.

      6. 135 4s.

      7. Seniors and more experienced people would comment on this. My sincere suggestion would be to get a bike to perform to stock specifications first. Later you can think of expansion chambers, etc. Yes, digital CDI will make your engine more free-revving but don't expect halve your 0-60 timings from it

Assuming you ride only on weekends and that too on open highways 135 5s seems to be your best bet. Else a 135 4s (with chrome silencer) or an RX100 in that order.

Visiting the two-stroke subsection might also help you.

The RX135 4 speed and the RX135 5 speed both have the same port timings, therefore there is no difference in the power band and output. However, since the RX135 5 speed has a 5th gear, its mechanical efficiency is better than the 4 speed and makes better use of the power band. I would recommend the 5 speed.

However, I doubt if you will find 5 speed in good condition for the budget that you are looking. 2 strokes in great condition are normally maintained by 2 stroke enthusiast, who would not sell it so cheap (if they ever do ).

Thanks.I think I will keep my eye open for each of these bikes, when I get a descent one for a reasonable price,I will buy.People here are asking a lot for 135 5s(60k).But 135 4s are available for 30k[not in best condition].RX 100 for 25k.So is 5s really worth such a huge amount?
For me top speed does not matter much[no highways around].
From some thread,I read[haha, that rhymes],that RX 100 is better to ride than RX 135,offers better pickup, attains speed easily etc.Is that true?

Some times when I drive my friends RX135 4S I feel like one gear is misisng. The the RX135 with 5 Speed is better.

RXZ 135 5S is also a good choice for you

Are you sure about the highlighted part Abhi? Then why is it the 4TL00 is rated at 12BHP & 4TL10 at 14BHP at crank while they have the same 132cc engines??

+100, to the second highlighted part...!

Forget the buying part, everyone can. Have you tried enquiring about the spares?? Do you think it's available off the shelves at any dealerships around??

So if I did a 5 speed conversion on a 4s will it be as good as 5s?I read somewhere it is a simple mod.
