Hey,average mileage for rx 135 4s is 35,for rx 100 is 30,right?I read somewhere about a guy getting only 21km mileage for his rx.Sadly he didn't give much details about the bike, engine rebuild etc.So my question is this, can this problem fixed with a proper engine rebuild with original parts?I need at least 30km mileage.{or I will be forced to put the bike on the show case}"Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr

Yamaha RX series is not meant for mileage, so I would give weightage to it's performance than FE. So if you are looking for a mileage stay away from RX. Most of the RX owners enjoy the bike for it's pure performance/pleasure of riding it and it so happen to give them decent mileage then it is a boon.Originally posted by albyjose View PostHey,average mileage for rx 135 4s is 35,for rx 100 is 30,right?I read somewhere about a guy getting only 21km mileage for his rx.Sadly he didn't give much details about the bike, engine rebuild etc.So my question is this, can this problem fixed with a proper engine rebuild with original parts?I need at least 30km mileage.{or I will be forced to put the bike on the show case}RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

You talking about Nisar from Coimbatore. He just entered to the arena of restoration. He proclaimed to have done few restoration however, there are no details discussed. He just buys the bike and get it done with mechanic so no details of parts procured, questions, tech discussions etc.Originally posted by lovish View PostThere was a guy in another thread who buyed rx100 for 12k in. Thanks a lot guys, for the replies.I learned a lot.Guess I will look out for a 4 stroke for time being,as it will be my only bike and commuter."Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr

Re: RX 135 4s,RX 135 5s,RX 100?
Jose,- Arrange a sum of INR 75,000/-
- Look for an RX 135 5 Speed. Better if you get a dead one but it should have its integrity intact. You can source such kind from Agra or Lucknow. Do not go for South. Check for the chassis number, engine chamber number
- For a 60km trip nothing beats the RX 135 5 Speed. It's advantage over others is more power (14bhp), more re-fineness, superb performance at lower and higher ends, to top it all it still manages a fuel economy of 40-44kmpl
- RX 135 5 Speed is the best when it comes to further performance modifications
- Get a dead bike, put a 3KA20 original block on it, install the digital CDI, also install an NGK Iridium spark plug
- Run it with care, not more than 50kmph for initial 1,000kms. Then take it to 60-70kmph for another 1,000. After the 2,000km run, try taking the throttle till its upper limit occasionally. And yes please use 70ml of MOTUL 2T Oil per litre till you are done 3,000kms
NEVER EVER PURCHASE AN RX 135 4 SPEED AND THEN CONVERT IT INTO A 5 SPEED. NEVER. A 5 SPEED IS A 5 SPEED. YOU WILL NEVER GET THAT 5 SPEED FEEL. NEVER. People have been doing it but I pity them. A hell lot of things get missed, it's only the presence of a an additional gear (5th, that provides peace of mind).
Also i would like to put that RX 100 is a legend. No second thoughts. It gave birth to that RX series of Yamaha, it set the benchmark. It has to be a legend of course. But it became cult as it had ample amount of time also - 12 years straight with no modifications except the current assembly. So, 75% of the people across the forums you will find are the ones who just go by the talk. I had owned all these RXs except the RXG - it was actually ugly in the first place and then it had a very unpleasant sound note.
In the RX 135 5 Speed you will find the RX 100 soul which got betterment that were the call of the time. Unluckily people of our country want mileage 1st and then they dream of performance also. My stock condition 5 Speed pulled out 45kmpl and at the same roaring alays ike an untamed beast.
But then we had the Desk ki Dhadkan with 60, then 70 kmpl of mileages and the RX series had to die.

So I was collecting information from last 2 months from many forums, but still confused.I will use this bike only on week ends and occasional trips to my college[60 km from home].I love to ride,so which one is better when considering sheer riding pleasure? What are the advantage one has over the other?I want great performance.Which one is more appropriate for performance modifications?Top speed does not matter much, because in my locality due to poor roads, maximum speed attainable on bike is 100km/hr.
0-60 timings,pick up matters a lot.
Read somewhere RX 100 is a better performer and fun to ride than all other bikes listed here.Is that true? Will fitting digital CDI,expansion chamber, etc. in RX 100 be as good as fitting them on RX 135?I plan to do some performance mods in future.
What would be the cost of these bikes in kerela?
People are asking 26k for even a not so good RX 100.
My question is,can someone please provide a detailed test drive report of these bikes. Also in terms of ride quality, is it worth to convert 135 4s to 135 5s?
