  • Help me choose a bike between 50k and 70k

    Hi,
I am totally new to biking and would like to choose a bike which costs between 50000 and 60000..i know most of the major bikes come under this category...but still I am not able to make up my mind on one of them (theres just too many choices and brands!!!)..i mostly need it for commuting to work and back and occasionally go on weekend outings (not long distances though)..i m looking for a reliable bike (means i wont be selling it for a long time to come) and one that gives a decent mileage of at least around 50kmpl...any brand will do (though i prefer Honda and yamaha) and as i m totally new to biking, i have no idea if more power would be better or not..please give me some suggestions..i would be happy to answer any doubts that u have for giving me good suggestions!!!

      Hi Welcome to Xbhp.....

since you are in need of good reliability and mileage....... i'd suggest Twister...
its a good looking bike with decent power for city riding....

yup Gladiator is a good one and stylish too....... since now you are into power also, why dont you consider pulsar 135.....? it has got 4valve engine with Dtsi..... so power + mileage......

yeah..p135 is good..but i havent got good reviews for that bike till now..i read that after some months of usage, it needs continuous servicing and stuff...another thing u can add to my set of requirements is maintenance free or very less maintenance..

i just did..thanks for the suggestion..i didnt know about this bike..but then i always thought that the 150cc segment bikes r either too costly or give very less mileage..thats why i was ooking at 125-135cc bikes..this one looks good to me as of now...thanks!!

P.S--just looked at the price..its 71.5k on road..its above my budget line u see..initially my budget was only 50k which i raised to 60..but i thought many bikes wont fit in this range, so started the thread with 70k..i dont want to cross the 60k mark for on road...Sorry!!!

P135 doesn't require any more maintenance than other bikes. The maintenance cost is low and it is the best in its class. GS150R lacks initial power but has a smooth engine and good top end. But as you're not considering it i would strongly suggest pulsar 135LS. And before going for gladiator please check its ownership thread.many users are complaining about problems there..!

On road prices differ from state to state and also at times from city to city and hence might not be given on the site. its always better to get first hand information from the dealer directly.
