Hey guys,my idling is set at 1100 rpm but after riding for about 10 mins at 3-4k rpm it automatically comes to 2.5k rpm. This will decrease mileage. This is worrying me
Should i get it checked in showroom or does it happen in all bikes?
And also i would like to know how to predict how much fuel is left in the bike in RTR.Sorry I am a novice at all this.

set the rpm when it shows you 2500 at the idle.........(idle should be around 1100-1200rpm in carb, for Fi its 1500Rpm) and warm up the bike for whole 1 min before settin off the first time, this wont give you stallin off the engine...........The Magician"

Hi
I am planning to buy Apache RTR 160.
Completely confused with opinions I got about Refresh & EFI.
Is Refresh a bad buy compared to EFI ?
On basis of opinions got, I am inclined towards Refresh because of its simple technology compared to EFI's complex technology.
What do you guys recommend ?
What is the fuel efficiency difference between the two ?Last edited by prasharma; 12-07-2008, 11:33 AM.

What do you guys recommend ?+1 -- what is difference in mileage? What is the fuel efficiency difference between the two ?
I also have some related questions:
1) What are the OTRs for both the bikes in bangalore, if someone knows?
2) Servicing in Bangalore for EFI bikes, is it ok?

Had tets ride for both the bikes but somehow I felt that there is a visible difference in power for the two bikes. Is that so or bikes were just tuned differently?
As per the mechanic there --
1) FI has 5-10kmpl more mileage
2) Around 3 ltr petrol in tank is beneficial for the bike for better startup, mileage and power as pump(fuel pump, i suppose) in the tank is a bit on higher level.
Really liked FI and planning to buy one. Before making the decision I want to test ride FZ16 once though.Last edited by chauhan_saurabh; 12-13-2008, 11:55 PM.

Orange FI Purchased
I am just returning after purchasing the Orange coloured Apache RTR FI.
My first ride was along the Palm Beach Road in Navi Mumbai. The 12 km ride took me 23 minutes and left me spellbound. I was mostly revving between 3-5K rpm and the top speed recorded by the speedo was 46 kmph.
I had to take a half-day at work to get this done and so couldn't take any pictures/perform the pooja as I had to rush to office.
Shall post the pictures soon.
I hope to take it to Pune over the weekend although the dealer has recommended against it since he feels that the cops could create trouble for me as the vehicle isn't registered as yet. Any suggestions? I only intend to travel till Pimpri-Chinchwad and have the TC.
For those who are considering buying it, the bike cost me 73650 (all inclusive) in Navi Mumbai. I bought it from Kapoor TVS, Belapur.
A big thanks to everyone who helped me make the decision. Hope to join some of you in the latest All India trip by xBhp on the Mumbai leg.
Shall soon post a detailed ride report in the relevant section.
