My first ride was along the Palm Beach Road in Navi Mumbai. The 12 km ride took me 23 minutes and left me spellbound. I was mostly revving between 3-5K rpm and the top speed recorded by the speedo was 46 kmph.
I had to take a half-day at work to get this done and so couldn't take any pictures/perform the pooja as I had to rush to office.

      Shall post the pictures soon.

I hope to take it to Pune over the weekend although the dealer has recommended against it since he feels that the cops could create trouble for me as the vehicle isn't registered as yet. Any suggestions? I only intend to travel till Pimpri-Chinchwad and have the TC.

For those who are considering buying it, the bike cost me 73650 (all inclusive) in Navi Mumbai. I bought it from Kapoor TVS, Belapur.
A big thanks to everyone who helped me make the decision. Hope to join some of you in the latest All India trip by xBhp on the Mumbai leg.
Shall soon post a detailed ride report in the relevant section.
      Congrats on ur bike

      wheres my treat ????????

congrats on your purchase dude! so you finally got your FI.

you shouldn't be riding it very slow or at a constant rpm for long. keep varying the rpm every minute or so. a few hard acceleration and deceleration cycles also wouldn't hurt if you've crossed the first 100 km.

A very happy new year to everyone. Here are the promised pics.

          @Aryan: Thanks

@Puneet1: Thanks! Bolo treat kab aur kahan deni hai?

@julianpaul: Thanks man, this wouldn't have been possible without your help.

It felt as if the bike was used by the dealership as the recorded top speed was 69 and the wire was disconnected. Hence, initially I was a bit apprehensive, but after 30 km, the engine sound put all my concerns to rest.

I rode the first 200 km between 3000-5000 rpm. and might have crossed 50 a couple of times for a few seconds and touched a max of 60 (the odo & speedo wasnt working upto 200 km). i kept varying the rpm as mostly i was doing city riding. did a couple of mumbai-navi mumbai rides. so the only concern is that the rides were of longer duration.
Have done a total of 300 km in the 1st week. From 200-300, I have moved to higher rpms from 4500-5500; touched 6K once with a speed of 83 for 2 seconds. I touch 5th gear around the speed of 45-50 so it feels that the bike is 1 gear short

I will get the oil changed this weekend and the rear tyre after 1k km.

Apologies for the low quality of images, I have shot these with a 2 megapixel mobile camera (nokia 6275).

Take it easy on the throttle for the first 1000kms.Short burst of speeds are O.K but don't do it for prolonged period of time!!

the dealer would have brought it from the godown at bhiwandi and there would be an additional 30kms on the odo if the cable was connected. the 69kph would have been done during the testing at the factory, i doubt the dealers riders would have kept it below 100! if he brought the bike to new bombay by truck then its obviously the factory testng. i picked up my bike at the bhiwandi godown itself and it had 19km on the odo which was done at the factory. don't worry about it, the bike is fine.

your running in technique is ok, you can start ripping to 100+ in short bursts after 500km.

good decision on the oil and tyre, don't forget the oil filter too.

Should i get it checked in showroom or does it happen in all bikes?
Did you mean 1100 rpm when you started the engine ??? I have a Unicorn, when i start the bike, the rpm is really low (<1000), once the engine gets heated, it steadily increases to 1400... Similar could be the case with you too, if you have set the initial rpm at 1100 & when the engine starts, due to heat, its bound to go high... Better have it checked...

                                forums wudnt help much....

u knw wat i usuallu say when i want certain things...

jus say rtr as a bike isnt much in people's hand... n i dnt want to buy things that are widely common n which every1 has...

take them down to a showroom n make sure u make them see the ads of rtr except a few...

make sure u still to hte mileage factor ...because its all bout money in the end dude... which parents relate to..

all i say is that the poster of apache has been glued to my cupboard ever since it came... so my parents had a fair idea wat i was gettin into n demanding...

if stilll nothin works up.. show ur parents some few triplogs which have rtr's as a member...*ahem ahem* it includes me also

n tell them that its a bike ..thats an all-rounder n affordable on every front... maintainence , fuel, allied expenses..... all of it... n IMPORTANTLY.... use pester power....

                                peace \o/
