  • 150cc Bike buying help...very confused :(

Hello everyone.....i'm logging in here after a longgggg time.
I want all of you guys to help me buy a bike for me

My first bike was cbz xtreme but it troubled me a lot. if some of you can remember i opened several threads for it. its due to the vibrations....which irritated my every journey which started from exactly 4k rpm and became violent after 7.5k rpm.
another problem that i faced is the tappet. whenever i went for a tour i usually kept my speed between 60-100kmph. but every time tappets became lose after the journey and within 10k kms my bikes sounded very harsh even though it was adjusted regularly. in my several trips with my cbz/unicorn i had 2 more riders riding p150ug3 and p135....sadly after the journey my tappets became lose but p135 sounded superb even after the journey and the p150 sounded the same after 2 hours but both my cbz/unicorn remained harsh with lose tappets which was very disturbing. Before you say anything i'd like to tell u that i took more than enough care for my bikes and spended thousands of money on my cbzx but the vibrations never went away than mechanic changed my ring piston but after that engine sound became a little better but vibrations were the same. with a very sad heart then i sold off my cbz x and bought a second hand unicorn though i never liked its styling. but my unicorn vibrates too but very little and doesnt increase at high rpm, it was maybe for the reason that the first user spoiled it earlier. but i'm not satisfied and now i've lost all of my trust on this honda engine.

sorry for the long story....i wrote it to make you understand my past experience which was very painful for me and killed my biking spirit.

I live in bangladesh and the bikes (only 150cc) that are available are:
    1. Pulsar 150 ug4.5
    2. cbz xtreme/hunk
    3. apache RTR
    4. Honda unicorn
    5. fazer/fz
    6. yamaha SZ

Now i want all of you guys to chose a bike for me....that'll have
    1.no vibrations
    2.good mileage (40+)
3.70-90kmph cruising speed without tappet problems
4.top end, low end midrange nothing matters
    5.less maintenance
    6.reliability

i'm going to buy this bike within 2months.....
waiting for your guys valuable decision

After reading your post, I am not at all confused. I would vote P135 over P150 simply because P150 is now quite outdated & P135 has a better breathing engine doing almost the same task as that of P150. You have experience of 135 too.
Dazzler, Yamaha SZ would be my other choices considering their robust engine & FE.

i live in bangladesh and getting quality fuel like you people get is a very rare case....so here most of the people are getting 35kmpl on fz under sane riding condition. bro my personal experience says hunk vibrates like cbz but i've never been able to ride a brand new hunk so dont know it vibrates due to the owners maintenance or any other problem. P180 is not available.
now i dont love any bike.....
i just want a bike that wont vibrate and wont give me frequent tappet problems

Most people in India also get similar mileage on FZ, you might choose a different example for the mileage bit.

I have ridden friend's Yamaha SZ many times. It is almost vibe-free and gived decent mileage around 45-50. Take a test drive of SZ and decide.

^^^p135 vibrates only in between 63-69 kmph.it is returning constant mileage of 60 kmpl for the last week.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

i like SZ too.....but does it have the ability to cruise at 70-90kmph like other 150cc's since SZ has very low power

i know p135 does provide superb mileage....but this bike doesnt suit me coz of the height and weight that i have. it fits nicely with slim figure

The SZ provides a vibe free ride, decent looks, decent quality, average'ish maintenance and good mileage at 50k - 55kmph.

While it can surely do the speeds you've mentioned, It may not be appropriate to expect a 150cc mill to dish out the best mileage and no vibes at those speeds.

i have never owned a unicorn but everybody praises its smooth engine, so it should be the least vibey of all, followed by FZ i guess.

btw, thats a pretty strange requirement for bike selection-- vibration free.

You can safely choose P150 from the list. RTR is anything but vibefree, SZ is a smooth ride, but I wouldn't bet on it if I have to be in 80-90kmph range most of the time.. while it can maintain those speeds, it wouldn't have much juice left at those speeds, heck even FZ wouldn't have much left at those speeds. Overall, P150 gives you good power, satisfies your requirement on mileage, plus it's cheap to maintain as spares are dirt cheap (atleast here in India).

ok then suggest me a bike with least amount of vibration ......i feel that sz is kinda underpowered

i ride new pulsar 150ug4.5 .....i have to say one thing its super smooth....and doesnt vibrate 6k rpm. but due to some personal reason i dont want to buy p150.
now you see why i'm so much confused
                          what about the new cbz/hunk...?
my cbz used to vibrate mainly from handlebar and footpegs.....does the new one behaves the same?
