  • Avenger - Utimate buy??

    Hello Friends,

I am planning to have a second bike for pleasure rides. I currently own P180 Classic and enjoy riding it all the time. Though initally I was suppose to buy Eliminator, but Pulsar 180 was what i opted for in 2001. Now thinking of going for Avenger and enjoy the low seat cruiser kind of ride.

    1. What do you say, is it a good machine to go for?
    2. Is is it line with orignal Eliminator, Parts and performance?
    3. Any updates on Avenger 2009 ? I hear 220cc DTSI - FI engine on it?
    4. Any discounts or offers? OTR is 75K

All you inputs, experiences and comments are most welcome.

    Viny

I love the old avenger 180 coz i cannot even imagine an avenger without a kick start. no offence but to me bajaj ruined the new avenger overall

See if you can get your hands on the 180.

I think its more about your driving style and handling of disc brakes, i know many felt the same way when they switched from drum to disk. But you might be true, dont know. Just feeling that it should not be much of issue...220 can be rumor, can be truth, dont know, may be one of the upgrades thats coming along with other 6 releases from Bajaj.

I dont know if I would like thunderbird, its more like riding a high horse in its own jungle. Its just my personal opinion, no one should take it otherwise. Before buying pulsar, i had a chance of riding Enfield Lighting 535 (During 1999-2000) I had my nightmares with it ..

Thanks guys for pouring in your views, looking forward to many more.

Well, they were thinking how to "Insert" a kicker into "P200's engine" Plant?? and they found it "economically unfeasible" to do it for Avenger alone ... and hence the idea was dropped...

Obviously, I'm kidding. But, you must have seen Bajaj's point of view ...

Bajaj is just trying to provide indian bikers with something on the line of International Bikes.

And they were thinking the same thought what Honda might have had while not fitting Blades with kick , what Suzuki might have thought of while not fitting Busa & GSXRs with kick and so on.

@prakash:what do you mean by hard to find?

Is that the only reason why you don't like it or there is any other reason because I'm not able to understand the link b/w an absence of kickstarter and not liking a bike.

Currently Bajaj is giving finance option at an interest rate of close to 8% which is lower than anything currently available in the market.

@Bandhav-Instead of me you should have pointed this.

Very rightly pointed out dude, sorry for this.

Bajaj is offering a very attractive finance scheme @ 7.99%, this is almost half of what normally you will getting the credit facility at in the market. 70% of the on road price of the bike can be funded by the bank.
So low rate of interest coupled with a low down payment its surely a attractive proposition.
