  • Looking for best bike in 110cc-125cc

    Hello all,
I am using pulsar 150cc 2004 model at the moment.I want shift to a vehicle that gives more mileage.. I am not power rider.I use bike for daily commute from home to office. In total daily 30+ km..

I preferred shine,But the waiting time here in Hyderabad is 3+ months.. I can't wait that time. And my next choice is bajaj 125ST(after reading reviews here). But here in Hyderabd, they have no idea about the availability of the bike.My dad is using passion pro.I am not satisfied with the bike for its price to performance.

Yesterday i went to suzuki showroom unexpectedly(It is next to Honda show room), and test drive the suzuki hayate bike..I like the bike. The pickup of the bike is very good and very smooth engine. And riding is comfortable for me.But my friends are saying that it might skid on high speeds because of its light weight ..is this true? Please give suggestions about this bike..

    Thanks in advance.

    Query Approved

You already know the answer to your query. Just wait a month, it will definitely reach you.

As for Hayate, it is only 8.xx bhp, there won't be any high speeds that the bike can realistically manage for you to worry about it skidding.

My suggestion: If Hayate satisfies all your requirements, go for it. Or else, wait a month for the 125ST
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

More mileage !? Then that's any 100/110 cc bike...
But if you go for Bajaj Discover 125 ST. You'll get power as a bonus.. choice is yours...

Also keep the Yamaha 125SS as an option as well. It is an under rated but good 125 cc bike.

For some reason it has not managed to catch the imagination of the masses. Maybe people in India are not ready to associate Yamaha other than performance.

As I now realize, The Discover 125ST should actually feel quicker than your 1st gen Pulsar DTSI which, interestingly, makes the exact same horsepower as the Discover 125ST but the Discover is a good 20kg lighter in comparison which should help its performance.
Not to mention, apart from the missing tachometer, this bike is actually better equipped than your Pulsar.

The wait should be worth it. Keep checking with the showrooms as it has been almost 2 weeks since deliveries began here.

Since you were considering Hayate why not TR Slingshot? it enables effortless cruising at 75 all day and has zero vibrations but its a bit on the heavy side (129kg)compared to hayate(<110kg)with similar HP but increased torque. It doesn't has the initial pickup of other bikes in this segment.Has ultra smooth gearbox (I'm getting 64-74 on sane riding with G-power plug).

Yamaha Gladiator is very refined bike but need to be revved up to generate enough torque,it has an excellent top-end,Best 125cc for highways IMO.

Twister is nice bike but its rear wheels and price tag are its disadvantages,it has no vibration but engine sounds strained at higher speeds.Excellent gear shifting. It's Initial pick-up is very cool for its size.

Discovers are also good, has the best mileage if you exclude Hero Glamour PGM-FI, has nice power, but one thing i hate is the noise and rattling which it develops after a few years(I know i`m going to be stoned for saying this but i'm saying from experience of my friends and relatives)
My cousin has a new PGM-FI glamour, he has waited 6 months for it, It's giving him very sweet mileage,He won't let me ride above 55 so no comments about power ,it has the worst gearbox among these bikes(In terms of smoothness).

No commuter i know gives the same braking stability like your pulsar .An exception maybe Yamaha SZ-RBraking is one of the things it is best in 50+ mileage and your old pulsar like power is guaranteed.Again gearbox not very smooth.

Are you sure about this? Because this chart that I have compiled shows it is quite the contrary.
Pricing wise, Dream Yuga is anything but competitive.

If buying in the 110cc segment, the Hayate is a much more VFM buy compared to Dream Yuga.
