from the mentioned bikes in my opinion cb unicorn is the best bike for a newbie ...very relaxed,smooth and comfortable ride(excellent monoshock) ....believe me,after riding cb unicorn,we find most other bikes uncomfortable..it also offers excellent fuel efficiency(50+) and is extremely reliable....but a waiting period of 4-6 months is unthinkable...if you can get the unicorn within a month,go for it...

overall the fz-s is a great bike with legendary yamaha reliablity..i think with your height it will suit you...handling of the bike is just superb and great for riding in the city...the new fz-s with new colors looks very HOT.....but the maintainance of fz-s is bit higher and the mileage is low.....the seating is also not comfortable for long drives..low end torque and power is excellent but engine loses its breath around 80kmph...other than these fz-s is simply an excellent bike....

another bike worth considering is suzuki gs 150R...it is a highly capable bike fulfilling all your requirements...

as you have not mentioned two important things here.. Your age and budget.
Considering your budget of around 75k and age of 18-20, I would like to suggest a cbz or apache or hunk.. Mileage wise a little less. Forget Fzs if you are too concerned about mileage and maintenance.

Cheap and very less maintenance, good service only comes with Hero or Bajaj only!! Any bike if kept nicely with periodic servicing would be a low maintenance bike!! But Bajaj and Hero are winning this point!!

please remove the FZ from th elist if you are focused on mileage! FZ would give you around 45-50kmpl where as Unicorn/Dazzler gives nice mileage then FZ, but Looks are on FZ side!!

performance wise Dazzler is more advance as per unicorn. Dazzler is best out of three because it has rear disc too. Heard few battery ptoblems are liekly to come after 2 yrs!!

For this i would suggest go with some 100cc second hand bikes!!

you can have a look at pulsar 150,the tried and tested 150cc.
then there is a old workhorse unicorn.fz is a good beginner bike,but mileage and top end performance may disappoint you in long run.
lastly there is p135,which is utter vfm.

I personally dont like dazzler's look & also heard that ergonomically unicorn is better than dazzler n also it has good seat quality.

Pulsar is so so...so common i dont want to go for it.(no disrespect to anyone)

Unlike some members think here, Dazzler has very less maintenance. I have owned the bike for the last two years, and never had any bill more than 1000. The spare parts are very cheap too due to very minimal fairing. Even the front fairing is made of at least 5 pieces and are available separately. Each piece is in the range between 100-250 only.

The engine is a gem, as it derived from its sibling Unicorn, and is smooth and refined. I have been consistently getting 47-55 kmpl depending on different riding conditions. I have toured on it extensively and it has always been a delight. Though looks are personal, its looks decent and a lot better than its sibling, Unicorn.

The saddle height is low compared to Unicorn and the handling is superior marginally due to low GC. The speedo console is excellent, with all the information including clock, and the readability is excellent, even though it appears small. Tubeless tyres are convenient and you can forget about getting stranded at night due to punctures. The rear tyre is 110 which adds to more stability. The rear disc allows excellent handling and braking. The low saddle makes it easy for lady pillions.

The rear monoshock is excellent in quality, as is the build quality. I have traveled on broken roads at high speeds many times while I toured, and even after two years, not a single squeaking noise or rattle. The build is as good as new.

The only spare that is costly is the rear O-ring chain (with good maintenance, the average life would be 20-22k kms). The chain-sprocket set is 1800 rupees. The rear disc pads are 675 rupees (the rear disc pads are running still strong even after 23k kms on my bike).

Overall, the bike is an allrounder that servers every need of a regular commuter than any other 150cc bike. I rate this bike high based on my experience in the past two years.

P.S: Regarding the battery, the stock Exide battery is really good only for 1.5 to 2 years. The cells in my battery too gone weak in the last month. Need to change to a better quality Amaron MF battery.

Go for CB Unicorn...It's gives Great Millage & maintenance is also Low..There is No waiting period on any Honda Model in my city except CBR250R ABS

Unicorn user here. Infact my 2nd Unicorn sold off the first one (spoke wheel one with graphics). Keep in mind that if you have soft back, you will feel pain during initial day's of ownership. I did experience the same and then got settled with it. Solid and a rugged bull is what I would like to name it. Even during worst monsoons here in Chennai it has never failed me. A work horse worth every penny provided you treat it with love and care (proper service I mean).

Go for CB Unicorn. Don't want more demand for Yamaha. SVC guys are very aggressive nowadays. They take the service of bike as if a sheep is going to slaughter . I don't want more demand for Yamaha. Definitely go for Unicorn.

This is not case every where bro!! where i service is a gentlmen he himslef checs all the odds and recommend all possiblities!!


@TS: if you want average 50kmpl+ then got for Dazzler else FZ is awesome in looks and ride!! it;s real fun on road in all conditions!! But dazzler has dual disc so preferably it would be nice in choice!!

Money is the main issue otherwise yamaha fzs would be my first choice.

Just came to know about Suzuki Gs 150r.
Its cheaper than dazzler and after studying on net came to know that like dazzler it too has sound engine with good mileage.

But am concerned about its after sales service and maintenance costs.
Can any gs150r owner form kolkata specify: how is the service center here and location of Suzuki dealer point?
