  • Upgrading from 135LS to 150/180cc

    Hi Guys,

Situation is we (my kid brother and myself) need a new bike, as my brother is stepping into the college this year. I've decided to give my pulsar 135LS to him and buy a new one for myself.

After much research, I have shortlisted following bikes:

    1. Suzuki GS150r
    - Personally my favorite among the list. It would be very helpful, if you guys can clarify the below concerns
-> Whether tank rusting issues are still there in the new batch.
-> Will it be suitable for a avg height guy like me (173cm)
-> What is the best suzuki service centre and showroom in chennai
-> Any upgrades are expected in GS150R

    2. Honda Unicorn
    - any upgrades expected for this bike and the best Honda showroom in chennai with good service.
    - Waiting peroid is too much

    3. Pulsar 135LS or Discover 125ST
To be honest, I dont want to part company with my LS. Since BAL hasn't come up with any new models in pulsar 135/150 segment, option available is to either buy a new 135LS (which is nearly more than a year old model) or Discover 125ST. Heard a few positive feedback from 125ST owners. Any idea, when this bike will be available in chennai or if available, pls name a few showroom.

You are also welcome to suggest any other options.

    My requirement is:
Daily commuter office (to and from 25KM)
    Decent mileage (50-55)
Problem free bike (like suzuki samurai :P)
    Decent pickup

p.s: Apologies for a very lengthy passage, please respond.

TS, going to GS150R may be a different experience to you! one extra gear and about 25kgs extra weight will take some time to adjust. Remember it can't be manipulated like you do with P135LS, it's a good handler, but not a sharp one like P135LS, which is extremely flickable owing it's light weight. Other than that it's a fine bike. You shouldn't have any hesitation if you chose to buy it. Just make sure that SVC in your area is good with service.

Started the search for SVC. I hope the ownership thread for GS150R has the answer for all my queries...

                But finalized...GS it is
