Thanks Somen, my part in blue.Originally posted by somen1984 View Postdo have a small kid ?? and if you are thinking on family angles then Karizma and FZ is best, if you don't have a kid then NS is best!!
Yes I have small kid....
Yep absolutely!! I have ridden FZ from Mumbai to Shirdi at 100-110kmph entire trip No problem in that. But yes if you are double then to get to 100 would be a problem to any 150cc apart from CBR150 or R15 as they are not commuter class.
Mostly I will be driving alone..so that suits my bill.
Why don't you TD NS200 with your family and check!!
I am still doubtful on its usage as family bike.
Now some change in views!
When you are thinking on Karizma, then Why not a P220, which has projector head lights, dual disc, oil cooled engine, wide tyres than KArizma and more less spare part maintenance then karizma....
Infact I went to Bajaj Showroom to TD it last weekend, but it was not available at that time for TD. Showroom had single P220 that too on display. Somewhere down in my thoughts, I have feeling that in looks it is all same as P150 except for that fairing... Common Pulsar Syndrome. So removed it from my list.

Once take a TD and see!!Originally posted by MoonLight View PostI am still doubtful on its usage as family bike.
.
Don't think like that, what if it's common, you don't have same features bike in same cost apart from NS200 which is more 4-5k.Originally posted by MoonLight View PostInfact I went to Bajaj Showroom to TD it last weekend, but it was not available at that time for TD. Yes true, even i found the same but i fell it more like Pulsar 180. But not to forget the difference in this P220 and others i.e Projector Lights, Dual Disc!! It's also a nice bike with in a 1L.
Projector lights would give you more visibility in night
Dual Disc will help your braking under panic situation too!! Disc brakes controls speed with big margin, Mind it!!

Gs150r
Lloking at your criteria of performance Suzuki Gs 150r would hav been a perfect match with awsome touring capabilities and ride quality above 90 kmph.. but since you have chosen not to go for suzuki bikes karizma seems to fit the bill, also if you are ok bajaj bikes take test ride of the new Pulsar 200 NS ... amazing machine for both city and highways. I suggest you take a test ride before you decide further.

Karizma-R is what you should go with..There were some issues regarding the parts in past but by what i have seen now, it has got resolved..
It has most powerful heart among your choices & also its the most torquey & most comfortable to ride..
it won't stress at all around 100kmph & you can ride it on that speed for long..
Go for it & ride safe
Suzuki Gixxer - Current
Karizma ZMR <3 - Sold
Apache RTR160 - Sold
Honda Stunner - Sold

why not SZ
Since you are not comfortable with the mighty 200 NS or P220(my fav bike
)
I would say you can opt for SZ-r, its a real fun bike .. feels way more fun than FZ due to the high torque nature and is cheaper too.
Also the mileage from an SZ will be better than a FZ on any day ,
personal experience since one of my friends has an SZ and another one has FZ.
As far as cruising @ 100 for 200 km is concerned ..
Me and my friend have done a lotta of rides, Bangalore to Ooty , Bangalore to Ellagiri Hills etc and beleive you me .. the SZ was never far behind the P220.
HOwever it has very basic looks so you might want to opt for 20 k costlier FZ ..
Dislclaimer I learnt riding on the SZ ..

This is not digestive dude !! SZ more torque then FZ???Originally posted by archanmishra View PostI would say you can opt for SZ-r, its a real fun bike .. feels way more fun than FZ due to the high torque nature and is cheaper too.
How come please tell us!!
Either P220 owner was not in mood to ride or it would be a potholes road or P220 rider was thinking for mileage!!Originally posted by archanmishra View PostAs far as cruising @ 100 for 200 km is concerned ..

an average P220 owner will zip you if you are on SZ, any given time!! And you won't be seen in rear view mirrors also!!
SZ is also a nice bike which delivers good mileage and good torque for people who are opting a 150cc bike with in a range of 60-70kOriginally posted by archanmishra View PostDislclaimer I learnt riding on the SZ ..
SZr in mumbai is 66K INMO.

I guess my post needs a bit of clarification .. road to ooty via bangalore is a medium traffic-ed high way .. so while maintaing speeds of 80-90 .. sz is not baad .. (it cant catch a 220 but can keep up in a group ride .. )
as far as SZ having more torque than FZ .. i am a bit wrong what i mean is SZ has more low end power than FZ and hence feels more fun while starting at a signal ..

in my opinion, if u have pillion
then go for karizma r because none of the other bikes in your list are so comfortable compared to karizma
else go for pulsar 200ns if you are more than 5.8feet but not sure about the FE

I kept suzuki out due to less number of SVCs and parts availability issue.Originally posted by manrajj18 View PostLloking at your criteria of performance Suzuki Gs 150r would hav been a perfect match with awsome touring capabilities and ride quality above 90 kmph.. but since you have chosen not to go for suzuki bikes karizma seems to fit the bill, also if you are ok bajaj bikes take test ride of the new Pulsar 200 NS ... amazing machine for both city and highways. Thanks all for your time and suggestion, please help me out on below thoughts:
is it true that mileage difference between SZR and FZ would not be more that +/- 5 KMPL ? If thats true, I think FZ would be better buy.
Karizma R too looks good on my requirements, but I am bit skeptical on mileage of Karizma R. Some have said in reviews that it goes to 25-30 in average city conditions. is it the case ?
what are pros of karizma over FZ , apart from top speed and bigger engine. ( if some people think other way ie pros of FZ over karizma, they are welcome to respond
) ?

What are real life mileage figures for FZ and SZR , both driven in city and sanely ?Originally posted by archanmishra View PostSince you are not comfortable with the mighty 200 NS or P220(my fav bike

Donno how come so low for SZrOriginally posted by archanmishra View PostAs far as i have seen 40-42 for FZ
and 45ish for SZ
a better point would be the owner ship experiences of fz and sz
But my friend rides daily for 15kms of highway and gets 50-55kmpl on 60-90kmph, that's a nice figure!! He do touches some time to 100-105kmph too. He has ridden it to 105-110kmph till now!!
Can it go further than this ??
