Would like to introduce myself to you, stalwarts of biking. This is Sourav from Kolkata, a passionate biker/bike-lover and a Mancunian at heart.

Preface: I had a dream just like any other boy of my age to own a bike after I finished my 12th standard and got into a college but due to family opposition never got hold of any two wheeler. But the insatiable desire of owning a bike was burning inside after I was looking for the right time to come. Now that I'm earning on my own and accumulated a good amount, I want to fulfill my 7 year old dream of owning a bike and that too with my own hard-earned money.

Now coming to point, what things I would be looking in my bike,
1)Should have a comfortable pillion seat.
2)Good looks and should handle with ease
3)Decent power delivery for mainly city riding.

These are the bikes I've shortlisted

Honda CBR 250R (C-ABS version) - Love the bike, C-ABS is an added bonus in my wishlist.
KTM duke 200 - Haven't test ridden but overall looks neat.
Yamaha R15 V2.0 - I used to be madly in love with the R15. But the only negative I find in it is its pillion seat. I'll be travelling mostly with a pillion and don't think it will be comfortable for him/her.

I'll be using the bike mainly in city.BTW I'm 5'7, weigh 70kgs, fairly built. Pour in with your suggestions folks!

    1)Should have a comfortable pillion seat. - CBR250R 10/10- R15 6/10 - Duke5/10
2)Good looks and should handle with ease - All three are good handlers.
If I were to compare them all around flickability as you mentioned City Riding then Duke 10/10- R15 9/10- CBR250R 8/10
3)Decent power delivery for mainly city riding.
For city riding you would need enough torque in the low RPM. The Duke here wins because you can trut it in bumper to bumper traffic in first gear. The moment you see the road clearing up you will have to switch to a higher gear. THIS would be slightly better with an R15 and a LOT better with the CBR when it comes to pull off distance in a lower gear.

If your use if predominantly city, then stick to the duke for the comfortable ergos for your body size. (I assumed you are thin like me and so wear a 30inch denim..)

If I were you, I would have rather looked at streetfighters for this kind of usage
    Pulsar200NS!, RTR180, FZ16, CB Unicorn, SZR

But easy handling would be with Duke but pillion seat would be compromised! NS200 would also be good but it's power is less for city becuase of it's power is over 6k rpm.

CBR 250 ABS anytime good with city torque and ABS but it's not very easy to handle in city as what i felt, but on touring it's awesome with Pillion.

If you have good exp on biking then go for CBR!!
I know that 200 ns is a high reving machine, but is it not good for city?Which bike is the most flickable in the city? Can some one give a comparison between 200ns,p220,cb250r,duke,apache 180,apache 160,unicorn,karizma zmr, karizma zma?

My suggestion is to go for the new P200NS or ZMA if you are not stringent on the above choices which you told(CBR250R, Duke200, R15). I am a happy owner of CBR250R for more than 1 year and I can tell you I am still riding the bike in the bumper to bumper traffic in Bangalore and as your place is Kolkatta its no where better, infact maybe worst. Nothing offensive .
I ride 48kms to-fro office and I feel very exhausted when I reach the destination. May be many people differ on this. I take my friends Yamaha SZ-R or Shine to office occasionally which I enjoy more. I not saying CBR250R is worst in the city, but from you priority(which is city more) then I would suggest you to look for something different. If you want to suggest a bike from the above mentioned 3, I will rate Duke 200. else P200NS or ZMA/ZMR.

Go through the ownership thread for this answer...you mentioned the whole bike industry!! ROFL...lol...

But seriosuly speaking you will get your answer in ownership threads.... But the best from the above lot if mileage is not a concern for city, it is Duke!!

Lemme make this short and to the point:-
P200NS: Personally i hate its looks. Specially the silencer part. Personally. But handling is where it stands out.. I do not know about its low end torque which i guess is lesser than the P220.. Buta as for city its a real made-for-the-street bike.. Street fighter i'd call it.
P220: Everyone knows about this beast!! The best in city with good looks, cool handling and an average mileage.. A good package for city. Also cool on highways.. Comfort i'd rate it 8/10..
CBR250: As everyone says its a no to city use.. Monthly once or twice touring? Then its worth the package.. Else no..
Duke: Also good in city.. Infact better but it scores less when it comes to pillion comfort.. Else it simply rocks!! In style, handling, etc..
Apache 180: Cheapest bike with ABS.. Which i personally feel is needed in city.. So i would recommend this bike keeping safety in mind first..
Karizma R: Rocks in city in terms of handling, good looks but outdated and a very poor mileage.. Comfort i'd give it 9/10..
Karizma ZMR: Looks cool for me, best mileage in its segment, sofa like comfy seats, and good handling, butter smooth engine. comfort is 10/10. But lacks top speed which a 220 cc should have.. But i do not think in city the top speed matters. You need pull which is provided only by the CBR 250R in all these bikes. But since it makes no sense riding in traffic, the next best is the P-220..

So priority wise i would say- Apache 180 ABS, P220, ZMR, NS, duke, ZMA, Apache 180.. If comfort and mileage is priority than power then i'd say ZMR.. Else anytime the P-220... The order was made keeping in mind looks, pull and comfort..
All statements and opinions were personal and am sorry if i have stated anything wrong about the bikes. If so then do be kind enough to point out guys.. Cheers!

If you are watching a bike for city use and use is less than 20 km per day then Apache is good for city riding due to its sitting posture which is forward inclining (sporty position) and slightly shorter wheelbase. But posture has one disadvantage as well, although subjective, that after long drive there is pain in your hands. Depending on your requirement of power you can choose between RTR 160 and 180 and white colour avail.in 180 only, if you want.

If you are not looking to RTR180 ABS, then NS200. And if safety is your concern then RTR ABS.

I would say ABS is much killer feature than any thing today!! It's awesome dude the confidence you get is uncomparable!!

But for highway ride among three NS200 is much better apart from safety of ABS. Good Power, Power Acceleration and good stability and tyres.

Actually most of the people prefer good power and speed on highway while riding which is best in NS200 among the three above.

Bajaj's SVC is affordable and nice. NS200 is way ahead of previous Pulsars.

ABS can be overtaken or adjusted with our own braking techniques and alertness. But still Human can't match with ABS ever!!

NS200 has an average of 38-45kmpl, claimed by owners. Similarly RTR180 is also 45kmpl+ bike with good power and ABS.

                  Now you decide????

Both bikes are good on highway +/- from each other!!

He had a crush on higher bike so he went for it. But can't use the optimum level of performance from this bike!

Same is with you... If you have made up your mind then go with CBR ABS, but remember where will you use the power and Speed of CBR in city?? You have to tour for this criteria!!!

Remember anything more than required is waste of money!! UNless untill you don't use it.

But Passion has it's own cost which riders pay to full fill!!
                    - Hey, I did go with my requirements mate and am very happy with my choice so far. Early days but the thrill you get each time you put your leg across the CBR is unbelievable. As far as touring is concerned I'd love tour with it once I gather necessary confidence.

Do one more thing, Buy a golden stripe sticker and write ABS cut it and paste it, just adjacent to CBR in both sides!! Like cars do!! and RTR 180 ABS type, Golden color would match!!
