No need to waste Money on bikes like CBR250 and all
Go for a Duke/200NS (if you like naked) or get a Royal Enfield Classic 350 ( Best choice )
Classic 350 gives an average of 40-45 which is good as for your needs.

When did RE started giving 40-40kmpl??? Mostly i heard very rarely getting 40kmpl.....mostly 30-35kmpl.... And RE don't stand close to any bikes apart from mega torque, else RE is still running on old techs and design..... How come cbr became waste of money??? Even i support saving, but cbr is never a waste of money, you get awesome power, stability, speed, design, comfort and affordable price. cbr is good if you a tourer or highway rider else it's waste of money, because you won't be able to use the power of this bike in city... @TS:GO BY NEED!!!!

The new model of Classic 350 Gives a average of 40-45 , Silence must be Stock !
and Definitely CBR250 would be a wasteof money for a guy who does not wants a specifically a Performance based bike but a bike with better fuel economy !
OP is a student and will ride in city all the time...
So i guess such performance based bikes are a stay away for him.

I'll put in this much till the OP confirms - he is pursuing CA. Most likely he wants a bike to help with his 3-year articleship and he may need to go to several places depending on where his firm sends him for auditing and this could often translate to a lot of kilometers per day sometimes. And sometimes during hectic days he may need to work long so the bike should be capable of providing enough thrills to start and end a long day early in the morning and late in the night respectively on empty roads and at the same time being safe. At other days he'd mainly commute during peak hours so slow moving bumper to bumper traffic shouldn't bother the bike as a precondition for comfort. I guess he'll want to stay away from bikes with a lot of niggles as CAs rarely tend to find free time to take the bike out to SVCs multiple times and every day without a ride will be really inconvenient. Once again, considering he is pursuing CA I don't think buying an expensive bike will be a problem. In a few years' time he'll more than be able to justify his purchase with his earnings

I think this should make it easier for you guys to recommend a ride for him...
Currently without a vehicle. Uber App and Bangalore Metro serving all my travel needs.

Yep That is true!! CBR for city is something waste only!! But If you don't recommend CBR then how come RE ??

No Re ower would say RE is kool in city!! RE is worse to ride in city with it's heavy weight and world of issues.

How come stock gives 40-45kmpl ?? I my self got 40-42kmpl on highways when i rode my friend RE CL350 @ 60-70kmph.
And surely RE won't give an average over 30-35kmpl in city with heavy handling in city. RE is for those who do tours and highway ride than city.

Any given Day CBR would return more mileage than RE in any conditions, better performance, better handling in city/Highway, less niggles, etc.

So RE is absolutely NO in city for requirement like TS's 99.99% city ride

He should go with some good 150cc bike. all 150+cc bikes are good for highways not city. Becuase they are built in such requirements.

Mind changed :-P Realised 200k investment is wastage in this situation. 150cc it will be. Let's see.

A big thanks to all of you :-)

Wise decision. You just saved yourself some initial capital, significantly reduced operating expenses and total cost of ownership.

You may have also saved yourself from wrist, knee and back aches as well.

And lastly, I am sure that you would make your dad proud when you tell him this. He would be happy that you have gotten more thoughtful about things.

Congrats, it's a great bike. Don't listen to naysayers - if you ride it like any high revving engine (keep at 4k+ RPMs always), it will have enough torque and power to make it 'pop'. Not to mention that it has a comfortable pillion seat for any lady friend, decent flickability and mileage (for city) and gets to ~120 kmph very quickly (I've pushed it to 130, but that's not the point).

Do consider writing a short post on the CBR150R ownership thread about your experiences with the bike (here's mine).

Many many congrats for taking a wise decision. Honda bikes have good reputation and CBR 150 I hope would fully justify it.
