Thanks for a nice complete review.. I have seen your comments in CBR ownership threads, in those threads i have also gone though some post mentioning the mileage 40+ in city and 45+ on highway.. Thats why i want to clear my doubts.. The main reason i'm ready to spend 1.3L is for its looks and pillon confort.. but personally FE also matters a lot to me.. less than 40, bit difficult for me to go for it..!! sad but true..!!Originally posted by neevarp16 View PostReplies in bold.
Added to that, this bike will be too sluggish below 7k RPM. And keeping it above 7k within city limits, you'll feel like you are torturing the bike.
Within city limits, lots lots and lots of down and upshifts. You have to be constantly changing gears to keep the engine from lugging.
For highway runs, reaches 100 easily, comfortable cruises till 120kmph. Feels little outta breath above 128-130kmph.
With pillion, the speed figures gets cut down by upto 5-10 kmph.
In total, a revv-hungry machine, a little overpriced, comfortable on highways, sluggish in city!
For the joy of revving up, its the answer!!!

Thanks for your reply and suggestion, but let me tell you that i had test ride of R15, CBR 150 and P200NS.. From there i like the CBR.. but stuck with few doubts, mainly the FE.. I want to tell you that my way to office is combination of few traffic areas and long straight roads.. And i cant afford less than 40..Originally posted by neobiker View PostIn City, you have to drive only in 1st three gears because you cannot go beyond 40-50kmph. That too if you are in a city which has more speed breakers and pot holes, just forget 40+ kmpl. It will not go beyond 35 kmpl. If you can live with that then due to it's light weight and is easily maneuverable in city traffic.
I have a daily commute which is a combination of city and highway, so that works for me.
In general, if you want a sport bike (read R15 V2, D200, P200NS and CBR 150R), as far as I am concerned no bike gives exactly 40+ all the time in city traffic. Commuter bikes, yes, they are made for mileage.
Also, as praveen said, there will be lots of gear shifting in bumper to bumper traffic conditions.
Finally, please test drive any bike at least twice before deciding because you are spending more than a lac.

I dont have heavy traffic on my way to office, its only 10-15km from my place. I drove the CBR of my friend, its good and comfortable for me.. Just the FE is stopping to have a go for it..!!Originally posted by mulli84 View PostThe city drive is torture if its heavy traffic. Initially, I stopped two times at the side for a 8 km ride in cm moving traffic because my hands were paining like hell! But once you are suited, it will be normal. U turns are little difficult. I drove most of the kms in highway and it was damn good.

Mark my word ask any owner who owns R15 or CBR they will prefer Activa/Deo etc for city...ROFL...Originally posted by Shaswat View PostYes, i have Discover 125, 2005 model, but i'm not using it, Its at my home. Currently i dont have any bike with me..
Infact Discover 125 is way better for city region and more comfortable for pillion too.

Is FE really that important. It almost seems like its FE against everything else.
In that case, everything else wins!
Go get your CBR. :P

if you really want a cbr then confirm the mileage with the cbr owners and buy it.
if you are looking for any other sporty looking bike then buy karizma zmr which returns 40 kms of FE in city and 45kms on highway
if you dont like zmr and you really want 40 kms FE and cbr fails to return 40kms then
go for any other commuter bikes which has good looks and returns good FE

Re: Need help in buying "Honda CBR 150R"
One important question though. Do you want a sporty "looking" bike or a sporty "performance" bike.
