Sir jee, why this kolaveri with your beast? Even if you sell it for X amount to Y person, every time you see Mr Y rip the hell out of it; your blood will boil.
I lived in Chennai for 17 months exactly with a 'Jharkhand' registered bike. I'd a valid NOC, but that's valid only for 6 months.
Now, I'm in Bangalore. Already spent 4 months here. I still have the 'Jharkhand' reg number on the bike.

In Chennai, I always carried my PUC, insurance, DL and NOC with me. Never was fined by any cop for the JH number plate.
Moreover, the traffic cops in Bangalore as well as Chennai are heavily misinformed about the registration process. They insist on getting a KA/TN number as soon as you reach the respective cities.
You've already done a good job by paying the road tax (and hence you're eligible for requesting the old state govt to refund your money you paid earlier to that state - BUT not worth the time spent. May take months!!!). You can carry the road tax papers and other docs as I mentioned anytime.

Please enjoy your ride and tell the (prospective) buyer a SORRY from my side as well.

Unless you over speed or travel without helmet, jump signal, travel dangerous chances of getting stopped by a chennai cop is very less. Even if they stop you show all documents along with NOC. Say your RC and number is yet to arrive. They will leave you off. Always keep on 'right hand' side of road since cops will always be on the left side. Chennai cops are lenient. Afaik Bangalore cops only pounce on other state vehicles like anything.

You can easily expect 75k for your pulsar 220.

Since you have a family and you already have a nice bike try a car. Alto, Nano, Eon even used santro will do.

And you got your quote - atleast 75k. It's not about the 22 months. Its about the 12000km. Its ONLY 12000km old.

my own home is in chennai and now i settled here itself.is it meaningful to change it to tamilnadu registration or no need to do re register it even if i intend to keep it for,say..4years?

Regarding meaningfulness, it depends. I knew in my case that I'd be switching cities every 2 years or so at least for the first 5-6 years of my career. Hence, I knew from the 1st day that I'd keep my JH number intact. But my friends who came to Chennai (and are still there) got their DL reg bikes rechristened to TN.

If it did, it would only work out to his advantage. In 22 months, which is approximately 2 years, he has managed to clock 12000 Km. In a year, how many services does your bike undergo? Five, right? Seeing this, the P220 in question, has done 9 or 10 services, but has only covered half of the mileage expected to be covered. plz don't sell your P220, you are loosing a good bike + you are loosing 25000 rupees and what you will be getting is a 150 CC which will never satisfy you.

if you are little bit tight on money, keep the bike for a few months, save some money, then sell it off and buy a P200NS. in the meantime if some cop catches you a bribe of 100-200 rupees wont harm you.

Any bike under 80k price range can't fulfill all ur demands. Considerably GS150r is a good choice. But selling ur p220 may not be a wise dicision.

@somen1984 & @madhav766- madhav's explanation is logical.but whatever said, value of a vehicle depreciates with time also.moreover If someone has ready cash of 75,000,don't u think he may wait for some time,save money and go for a spanking new p220.But only one thing may change the decision..he need a bike immediately within that range and it must be misty grey.

about that 100 or 200 Rs. but it's not as easy as it seems,because i am riding the same route 40 kms daily.Nearly 15 signals i have to cross.once a cop got bribe from me,whenever he sees my bike again he will stop me for money.

@arnabhawk- u r right,for a p220 user gs150r/Hunk will never satisfy in terms of performance.An Apache might.but the comfy seating,dc,projector lamps,top speed of nearly 140 Km/hr which are addictive in pulsar220,i will lose all these in an apache.otherwise apache is a wild performer.
