good to know someone sharing the same plight...please share what you know...

the thing is the scooty will sometimes be used by my sister & mom...so as such the height factor...
then hero pleasure or mahindra rodeo? pleasure has a good engine and rodeo has many features. just ask your father to test drive rodeo. he will like it for sure. has a very good front suspension . btw when it comes to durability it will be ok for five to six years only. have to service the vehicle regularly without fail otherwise the fuel economy takes a hit.

I had the same confusion as thread starter and Tron05, both of you have.
3 Months before I bought Wego for my father.

Points which I have considered before buying: Mainly - Ride and handling which are far better in wego than any other scooter ( due to 12 inch tires and body balance tech maybe)
others - full metal body, easy center stand, comfortable kick technique, easy fuel inlet.

After riding it, the most I am amused with, is its awesome handling and about to no effort center stand.
Until now I am fully satisfied with it. So no problem in going with it especially when you want good ride and handling.

Body balance is just a marketing gimmick. If you ride Yamaha Ray, you will get to know how good the handling is. Ride quality wise, due to 12 inch wheels, Wego has slight advantage with better soak up of potholes.

due to your father's age the most important things you need to look in a scooter would be easy stand, very good suspension and with external fuel filling.
the choices are wego and rodeo. don't know about yamaha ray but if it has the same features then go for it since their engines are built with very good quality.

Rodeo is not on my list. Rodeo is same as Kinetic Nova, that my dad already has now, and has become a pain to maintain it.

Design wise- i can see it to be exactly same as Nova, few minor differences maybe. Tech wise -have not checked specs, but guess it should also be same as they need to leverage the tech they acquired from Kintetic.

Never buy Rodeo! My cousin bought this bike and he is very disappointed with mileage. He is getting very poor mileage, only 30-35. No doubt Rodeo has powerful engine but still it's not worth.

Go for Activa or the new Dio. They have the advantage of best fuel efficiently, reliability, refinement, and quality.

If you like, go for Wego.

Regarding service : My experience is good considering the response of service center guys and their behavior but it is very subjective from one service center to another.
And regarding parts availability : I don't require any yet ( just 3 months old ) so I can't comment.

so then friends i will be going for the Wego (99%) when i go back to my place at the end of this month.thanks for the awesome advice & suggestions xbhpians.i had called the TVS showroom for the details.they also appeared very customer-friendly unlike Honda.they quoted me a price of 59,000 of the Box-variant which includes extended warranty, floor mat,side-stand & foot-rest.now my friends kindly tell me what are the things one must check before the purchase.also what are the accessories required other than that ? should i take the above accessories from them or get it fitted from a third-party ? wego-owners especially what did you do?

                        nice choice.
before selecting a vehicle check for any external scratches. check the wheel alignment by standing behind the vehicle a few metres away. also check if the mud pad of rear wheel is aligned properly to the centre of the tyre thread.
before they hand over the bike to you make sure the chassis number is correct n the scooter manufacturing date is not too old.

Wego- one of my friend owns this scooter. I had a chance to ride this vehicle a couple of times. I feel that it has power and also the balance. The only concern which he has quoted is the mileage. He says that it doesn't cross 35KMPL.
Suzuki Access- why not a try? I have seen couple of good reviews about this scooter as well.

                              Wego is a great moped.
One of my friend's father has it.
Good to see that Tvs has improved in quality , But i heard its mileage is only 38-39 kmpl & coming to resale figures, TVS has worst resale ever. A Star city of my friend bought for something around Rs.54,000/- after 2 years sold for 18,000/- , how pathetic.
A better choice & all rounder will be Honda Activa.
Underseat space is awesome, superb engine which is reliable even for long rides (around 70-80 kms) , good resale value.
However, if you have decided, let it be your choice. Best of Luck.

Hi there, this is Rinku from Trivandrum..

I would suggest the Piaggio Vespa as a good buy. The honda activa also seems to be good and the best as far performance is considered, But for your father I definitely thinf the Vespa could be a good choice. After all it comes from a well trusted company which used to produce one of the main scooters.

Now if you want to compare all the scooters above, you can do it here. You can add the scooter of your choice and compare them.
