Both are excellent city bikes, you cannot go wrong with either for city commuting purposes. But since you have the budget to go for the more powerful bike amongst the 2, I feel you should stick to it. My suggestion, pick the Discover 125ST.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

If provided an option to choose, blindly go for Disc brake version. I have been using drum brakes on my RE 350 for all my riding years, recently got myself a new bike with Disc brake and believe me....its whole new world. I get required braking punch, just by pressing brake lever lightly with single finger.

WOW! This is probably the fastest purchase after posting in what bike section I guess...

Anyways, apt suggestion from Antz and apt decision of buying the same. Its a no brainer, always buy the most powerful bike in your budget.
            Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

                Hi this is Rinku here...

the question to your answer would certainly depend on your use. For instance if your main use is only in the city, and you concentrate mainly on mileage the 100 t is a good option. But let me tell you, this bike is no where for performance.

The 125 discover on the other hand is much better bike. it has a perfect blend of mileage and performance compared to others in its class. So if you want a good economical bike, you would want to go for the 125 ccier.

                        Re: discover 100t or 125st

I too would like a suggestion on this topic. i am planning to buy a discover as well, but pillion seat height is an issue for my family. so have to choose between 125t and 100t!
power is not much of an issue for me since i travel mostly at around 40-60 kmph , but i travel mostly with a heavy pillion!
i occasionally go for long trips of 200+km like once in 2 months or so. so i dont want a bike that runs out of breath in such long rides!
FE is important! i want it to be able to deliver 70 or above! ( i will maintain well!)

sorry, i know am posing my query in another man's topic! pls excuse me!

ok, thank you for your suggestion, but frankly splendor is my last choice! i am 20, so i do have a preference for looks too. splendor does have a classy look but it fails to attract me, which is why i opted for discover 125t or 100t! can you please suggest from these two?
my opinion about splendor is purely personal, it is a great bike. but in a world where looks matter, i dont think the splendor ranks much!

Not sure if 125ST would deliver a real world mileage of 70, but 100T should be able to do just about that figure. But I doubt it'd be happy with a pillion for 200 kms. Go for 125 if you need the pulling capacity and 100 if mileage.
