No bike with heavy pillion will give you above 60. You should look at 125ST if you need better pulling power. Ah maybe just go for P150 if budget is not a concern.

not going beyond the 125cc mark for now bro!Originally posted by Cleaner View PostNo bike with heavy pillion will give you above 60. You should look at 125ST if you need better pulling power. Ah maybe just go for P150 if budget is not a concern.
budget and milage prob!
i am interested in 100t but the lack of disc brake and the ability to go long distances worries me..!
can 100t go long distances?
then the 125t has disc option and its pulling capacity is better so i dont think there would be much prob when going long distances..but its mileage figure is 77 (company claimed). if i get a 70 then surely will go for 125t! so can anyone confirm whether the 125st can provide a mileage of 65+ atleast in city?

Re: discover 100t or 125st
Mileage would be 60+ in city depending on your riding habit and traffic congestion. 100T can go long distance too, but only when kept below 50KMPH most of the times with proper rest. If you stress the engine by whacking the throttle wide open or with heavy weight. With heavy weight you'll be forced to go at low gear and high RPM which is not a good thing for long distance riding. 125ST too is not a touring monster and will vibrate and sound too much if ridden at high RPM, IIRC the powerband of 125ST starts at 7K RPM which is too late for me. Maybe you will get used to it.I am back!

ok thanks for your insight bro! if only bajaj had given a disc brake option for the 100t!Originally posted by Cleaner View PostMileage would be 60+ in city depending on your riding habit and traffic congestion. 100T can go long distance too, but only when kept below 50KMPH most of the times with proper rest. 30% more power than the average 100cc and nearly 10% more weight than the average 100cc but a stupid drum brake! i personally tink disc should be standard as stopping fast is more important than going fast!
dont know. have to take a test ride to confirm whether 100t's braking is atleast above average!
can anyone tell me whether 100t pulling power is atleast in par with splendor..?

can discover 100t go long rides non stop (like 100km). if i ride it sensibly?

Re: discover 100t or 125st
Sure, Discover 100T can do 100Km non-stop easily as long as you don't stress the engine with high revving or heavy weight. 100T's braking is average, IMHO they could have made it better with disc brake option. Well, maybe the disc brake assembly and front wheel of 125ST would fit in the 100T, that way one may be able to add disc option in 100T. 100T is par with Splendor in terms of pulling, maybe slightly better but it's how the power delivery comes. In Splendor Pro the powerband starts at 4.5K RPM but 100T's starts at 6.5K RPM, so you can easily guess which one will vibrate and sound more if you want to keep at powerband. Spelendor has more optimized low end pull. Often you'll find yourself at lower gear and high rev if you ride with heavy pillion on 100T. I suggest you buy the 125ST if you want a good balance between power and mileage. A guy I know from our college, who weights around 90Kg got a 125ST and I rode that bike with him sitting as pillion. I must admit, it was not very smooth in acceleration but overall okay ride. I'm very lightweight though, around 45 Kg so your mileage may vary (no pun intended).Originally posted by Ganesh Ganu View Postok thanks for your insight bro! if only bajaj had given a disc brake option for the 100t!

Re: discover 100t or 125st
hey guys, finally took the test ride of both discover 100T and discover 125T. I have to say both are very good bikes. They both have good power, but 125T's power is more and one can feel it immediately after starting the engine! Gear shifts were good! both were easy to handle!
about the brakes, there is quite a big difference. 100T's conventional front drum brakes is not good! it maybe because i have been using disc brakes for the past year! but still, drum brakes do not inspire confidence at all! huge difference in stoppage distance! front disc brake is far far better! it is especially necessary when you have more power that any other conventional 100 or 125 cc bikes!
then there is one more difference noted. The 125T i took out for testride sounded very much more refined than the 100T ! i dont know whether the 100T i took was a faulty model! but definitely there was a huge difference. 125T sounded much more smoother and felt better!
So there you have it... the only differences i could observe were braking, power and refinement(it was felt in my model, don't know whether it applies to every other).
and about the mileage, showroom guys claim that 100T can provide above 80 and 125T can provide above 70 if ridden sensibily!
I will most probably go for 125T as front disc is very much essential to me! will keep you posted!

Re: discover 100t or 125st
Today finally got my 125T! I thought alot before opting for this bike, but found that it has most of my requirements!
About the first ride! bike is smooth. Am not planning to cross 40kmph mark for now (atleast till 1000 kms). headlights are really top class, providing more than necessary illumination. horn could be better, but not gonna complain! its ok!
bike does feel very light and is easy to handle in tight traffic! changing gears is qick and there is no need to shift frequently since the 5th gear can pick u very well from speeds of 25-30!
Although a new bike, gear box seems to be very smooth! clutch is a little too smooth i think! but everything falls into place well!
The best thing that i feel is the exhaust note! i maybe riding a 125 commuter vehicle but sound suggests that am riding a race tuned bike! its simply soo masculine!
thats all i could say for the time being i guess!
i think 125T definately does live up to it purpose as the link between 100T and 125ST. Its like a family and pocket friendly 125ST! (by family friendly,i meant the shorter and longer seat)
