Getting angry at somebody is the same as getting angry with a bike that just won't go. You should stop and start thinking.
A good mechanic will let you watch even without charging you for it. |
It is funny to know that we've been imitated and copied so well and surprising when we notice our mistakes are copied as well.

Bajaj Discover 125. Have owned one for the last 8 years. Rides great. Excellent mileage . Low maintenance costs. Infact havent had to go to a mechanic for more than a year. I change the Engine oil myself. Performance is much better than the Hero Hondas.

For all those who are trying to buy a Mahindra product, think twice, as it a completely new product with no open market spares support. Also when I checked the bike the engine was not at all refined. BTW, I own a Mahindra Rodeo and am fed up of it. The ASC is not ready to exchange it, though they agree that the old model which I own was a flop, and the worst part now they are assuring that these new bikes will not be a flop (I don,t know how can they say that).Originally posted by blue_maniac View PostThanks Babu for the input. Even I was thinking of checking out Centuro. Is it possible to remove those gold colored pipes by any chance? Would you know?

Also, it is my advice that don't like the meter console just by looking at it ask about the hidden inside stories, I asked the salesgirl that how much will it cost to replace the meter, at first she told me that she did not know (and who made her the salesgirl then ?),later when I told her that the meter of Rodeo (and Pantero) costs around 5k (Can you imagine ? The Mahindra guys forgot that they are making the meter for a two wheeler and not an SUV) she said that the meter of this new unrefined Goldilocks will also cost around 5k (whoa!!).
Therefore think twice before even looking at the meter, as it is around the same price in which a normal and reliable bike can have its borekit.
PS : Please help me in selecting between DY, Splendor Pro and Splendor +, and see my post. (I have already visited the showrooms and am taking the final call).

I feel that below mentioned bike will suits your requirement..
Hero - Passion pro, Xpro, CD DAWN deluxe, Splendor
These are good bike in term of milege, reliability and long term commitment.
you should always go for more popular product as you will find part and mechanics very easily in any part of country. I own CD DAWN for last 10 years no complaint at all..

No other 100cc bike comes with tachometerOriginally posted by blue_maniac View PostWhich of the 100cc / 110cc bikes come with an RPM meter? (I know mahindra Centuro comes with it, but a 45 day wait is putting me off. My oldie KB100 had it).

It is really worth the wait. If you really maintain the bike well, it will come along in the long run.Originally posted by blue_maniac View Postbut a 45 day wait is putting me offMy DIY(s) - Sprocket bearing change | Paint job | Custom speedo dial

Man, you started this thread almost 6 months back and still you have not decided on which bike :-oOriginally posted by blue_maniac View PostWhich of the 100cc / 110cc bikes come with an RPM meter? (I know mahindra Centuro comes with it, but a 45 day wait is putting me off. My oldie KB100 had it).
Sorry, I haven't read complete thread but what's stopping you? Just hop on any Baja or Hero/Honda bike and enjoyyyy

It is all about priorities & the urgency. When you already have a car + scooter + an old bike which is still functional, a new bike becomes a second priority! Also, spent the money on a sexy DSLR & a phone instead :P
Didn't realize it was 6 months since I initiated the thread. Work is keeping me busy anyways. A quick calculation reveals I couldve saved ~30ltrs of fuel if I had bought a 100CC bike instead of using my Activa (ignoring the car usage) - That is approximately around 2K savings which I could have made:P OR even less, considering the period I was away from home on work etc.
Anyways, getting serious, I have made up my mind on the Centuro. It offers the best bang for your buck. Priced well & good FE coupled with a bunch of fancy features (even though people highlight cons like no service, reliability etc). Like I posted elsewhere, one of the drawbacks for the Centuro I felt was its brakes (almost with puncture less tyres & possibly a 5th gear addition - which are not really deal breakers for me in a 100cc bike). I was told that the disc brake version is around the corner & I am waiting for it.
