Re: What to buy?
All the bikes you have mentioned in the list cannot be considered as an upgrade buddy..
if you are ready to shed away 50000 more... then you can try the Hyosung 250.. its pretty decent and a nice ride..
but what is your requirement..? do you want a tourer.. a sports bike.. naked bike??
have something in mind? shed it out
so that you will be provided with more options..
and Don't consider RE unless you are a real fan of it.. its a disaster to many people...Splendor - 2k to 2006
Karizma - 2k3 to 2009
P180 - 2k6 to 2k9
Hunk - Oct 2k7 til now
ZMR - 2010 to Forever
RX135(2k) - 2013 to 2018
Ninja 250R (2010) - 2016 til now
RayZ - 2015 til now
Ninja 650 (2014) - 2017 til now
Delhi to Narkanda
Delhi to Coimbatore
Delhi to Nepal

P150 ...
I like sports bike but thinking of D390. I want a bike with ABS.
I somewhat dont want to trust Hyosung. I'ts new in India and is not appealing me. I read lot of reviews on RE and it's not good, so not going that way either.
CBR 250R is nice but it wont be an upgrade. I think i need to increase my budget.
Cant think of Ninja, it's freaking costly. Cant spend 4lacs, but love the N650

Re: What to buy?
Ninja 650 is v heavy for city, 300 ideal bike with a not so ideal price! Cbr 250r I had for almost 2 years n it killed my trust in honda. ..shoddy quality expensive spares and bad inventory in the service centers. They replaced my engine head, piston, block, cylinder after 2 months of waiting for spares and 27000kms. The bike is a white elephant. Sold it and waiting patiently for the duke 390. Already booked it in April. Ktm service is top notch. .. local spares would b cheaper and they replace everything under warranty, inventory is better as well. The orange devil looks good as wellOriginally posted by ShreySri View PostP150 ...

And ya pls don't buy hyosung. A friend's friend meet with a front collision accident on the gt 250r. Below I am posting a link to the service estimate given to him. New bike is 3.3L, 2.9L is their service estimate including 15000 rs labour.

Re: What to buy?
Wow ... how can a repair bill be more than the price of another bike? 72k for fuel tank assembly. Thanks for the heads up mate.Originally posted by mohitahuja View PostNinja 650 is v heavy for city, 300 ideal bike with a not so ideal price! I just went out for a ride, i like my ZMR. It has got the looks and technology. I just hate the service center people.
Can anyone suggest me if sticking with my bike, which is 2 years old, 2 accidents while turning with minor scratches on the body and now does fishtail at 20 kmph is worth keeping? Seriously I love my bike.
With the budget I've got, I can go for CBR 250R and with very painful push and big hole in my pocket i can aim for D390 (though i dont like naked bikes & as of now don't seem to have ABS). Shall i move away from ZMR to these bikes or get it fixed and change the rear tyre to Pirelli sports deamon, bike security and HID i have been dreaming about??

Shrey

Re: What to buy?
Dude as a cbr 250r owner and member of mumbai cbr 250r group, I strongly recommend not buying it. This bike is a white elephant. U'll have to replace the cone set after every 5 to 6 months and after every monsoon as it rusts. Tyres are Crap you'll have to change those. Many front brakes still keep losing bite intermittently. Mine was replaced 3rice. And 12 bikes I know got engine work done before 25000 kms or 2 years of ownership including mine. It's an Indian made honda with shit quality control. Spares are out of stock and so expensive. I suggest you test drive the ktm duke 200 at least once. You'll know how fun it really is and sticks like glue with awesome brakes and amazing corner craving handling.Originally posted by ShreySri View PostWow ... how can a repair bill be more than the price of another bike? 72k for fuel tank assembly. Re: What to buy?
Bro ZMR is the most fuel efficient bike in its class. Its got above average comfort and tech. Just cause your service center guys are bad doesn't mean u have to change the bike! Instead of shelling out that much cash, use it to fix your bike. Find a good private service center. You say you love your bike. Then why sell for minor issues. Btw the bikes in your budget cannot be considered as an upgrade. Real upgrade is possible with ninja or hyosung or the new pulsars and ktms comin up in future which are above 2L. Keep your zmr and fix it. Else collect cash and get yourself a REAL upgrade. Think....

Now this sounds practical.
As you already own a ZMR so upgrading depends on two factors: 1) Performance upgrade or 2) Features upgrade
Performance upgrade would be with higher CC, but due to some circumstances we Indian have to pay a hefty amount for it or wait for Bajaj ...lol..
Feature upgrades would be any better bike in same 200+cc range..
So now as you like your ZMR and your budget is also limited, wait for some more time save money and then buy something good.
Repairing your current bike would be more better if you need a leap in upgrade to something really better.
If you still eager to buy something then surely it should be CBR 250.
