Need help please. TBird 350 vs CBR 250
I currently own a karizma R with plenty of modifications. I commute daily to office which is 17 kms one way. I have already booked the new thunderbird 350 for which the waiting is 6 more months. But I am in a fix whether i should go for thunderbird or my heart is beating for CBR 250 as it suits my riding style. Should I go for comfort or my style of riding.

Re: Need help please. TBird 350 vs CBR 250
There are so many threads here discussing the RE vs CBR choices.
In simple words, if you are a RE fan, you wouldn't settle for anything else in the world. If you aren't a die-hard RE fan, you'd do have some things to ponder about, as you'd notice from the threads above!Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

That's because i thought i will get more comfort and i had not taken a ride in CBR. But then i did take a ride and i just liked it an hence the dilemma.Originally posted by Bindass Axomia View PostIf CBR 250R match your riding style & needs then I dont understand why did you booked TBTS350

Re: Need help please. TBird 350 vs CBR 250
Bro, listen.
I am a ThunderBird owner, and ride it daily for 18kms up and down, so 36kms.....very much near what you will be using it for.
Do not buy it.
I was very much happy to buy it last year.
Then it started giving me problems like:
1. Chain: Never is right for more than a month.
2. Oil leakage from front shock absorber. Thrice changed the seal and oil. every time around rs. 300. NOT covered under warranty!
3. Starting problem. Bike would just not start!!!... some electrical issues, were fixed.
4. Bolts that fasten the silencer to the engine got loose and dropped midway.
5. Brake shoe changed.
6. Front handle ball-bearings changed twice, NOT covered under warranty.
7. Front disk brake main assembly got to be replaced, thankfully it was under warranty.
8. The clutch wire broke when I was riding uphill, god knows how I survived without falling!!!
9. Front right Indicator light and neutral indicator bulb had to be replaced. NOT covered under warranty.
10. The RPM meter needle slipped pass the blocking stump!!! WTF?? They said it will be replaced for some 3-5 thousand.!!!! WTF?? got it repaired locally for rs. 100 :P
11. Wobbling of the front wheel. Service center person told me to get the spoke repaired from some shop......when my bike was under warranty!!
and so on... and as its still with me, I know I am gonna see more of the RE service center.
Plus, if you think it is very stable, you are wrong, on ever corner you will take, it will remind you of god!! Trust me, I take many trips to the mountains..... I live in Chandigarh.
also, my friend bought the TBTS with me and has his own tale of mishappenings..... his bike is still not working right and he is thinking of filing a consumer complaint now, while I am gonna sell mine off.
Please steer away from ThunderBird or anything Enfield... I am selling this piece of poor engineering and buying CBR250R.... would recommend you to do the same.
This is man to man. I am not a Honda agent. :P
check my thread, it will guide you more.

@valkyrieX7 : i must compliment u on ur honesty & truthfulness. there are folks who will, for everything dear to them, never tell the truth about a bullet. yes, some say its love, others say its a vintage... i say its downright stOOpid!
be advised, till recent times [2 yrs back] i've been a proud owner of a 1962 Royal Enfield myself - that was passed down to me thru the generations...
i have always loved the charisma of that 'stuccatto potatto stuccatto potatto' thump & have admired the simplicity of the mechanicals on it.
however, try as hard as i may, i cud never justify the logic behind owning a 'white elephant' that always shat left-right-center & never did the job that i expected a machine of that calibre to do flawlessly.
yes, owning a bullet is a decision of the heart & not a combined decision of your brain & heart!
@Zeeshan Naglekar : every ride has its own limitations. even the busa's, the diavel's & the v-max's of the world have some flaw here n there - that's life!
the question one needs to ask his self is, how many of such flaws can be overlooked, for the benefits that are offered by the ride? or in other words, is the squeeze worth the juice?
if u r betting ur hard earned money on making a key decision of ur life, please, in the name of everything that's holy, do so as a combined effort of ur intellect & ur heart... do not compromise one on account of the other! that's my only limited point!
cheers!◦ ● 4-wheels move the body... 2-wheels move the soul ● ◦

Thank you!
I followed my heart, bypassing my brain. I saw many negative reviews about it but was blindfolded by the feel I got when I rode it...
Enfield is a mental bike. It gets in your brain and shuts it down, once you ride it, you want it.... that's it...
But, what are you getting by owning an Enfield?
Something that people will admire and look at, also listen to.
Do you want only that?
Or you want a bike that will not let you down, will not waste your money and keep you tension free on the rides you take. Maybe not as much a looker or crowd magnet.
If you are buying a bike for yourself and not to show off then its the CBR250R.... its a beautiful bike..... may not give you the road presence of "dug dug dug dug" but is actually a switchblade......its more powerful than the Enfield. Surprised? Check the power to weight ratio...... plus if you get the C-ABS version, you are burning the competition!!!
I would Strongly Recommend the CBR250R... if budget allows, the C-ABS version.

Re: Need help please. TBird 350 vs CBR 250
These are two very different bikes. If I were you I would pick the CBR. I used to be a fan of bullets myself, till the day I rode one. I had a lot of expectations about the bike, but when I rode it, it changed my mindset completely. Yes it will be a lot more comfortable, and it will have that nice exhaust note, but there are quite a few problems with it. Also when I enquired about the issues the bike had with the owner, I decided that RE is not the way to go for me. A lot of RE fans may not agree with me, but I'd suggest you to buy a bullet only if you are die hard fan of it even after knowing all the bad points of the ride. Because unless you have experienced riding it, you are in for a big surprise.
Here's why I'd suggest the CBR over the RE
1. Its more reliable (Honda)
2. Its build quality is quite good, especially in the current models.
3. Its a comfortable tourer and a mile muncher.
4. Has the option of C-ABS (Very essential in Indian roads)
5. It performs much better than the TB350
6. Even the FE will be better than the TB350.
On the whole its a gem of a machine especially when compared to the TB350(unless you are a die hard fan of RE). If you can spend upto 2L I'd tell you to pick the CBR 250 C-ABS.
P.S: I'm not a fanboy of Honda, I myself have overlooked CBR 250 over another bike, but that's another story.2013 R15(Sold) | 2014 Duke 390 (Sold) | 2022 Adv 390 | 2022 Ninja 300

valkyrieX7 & whymail : thanks to all the information you guys have given me. Because buying a bike and shelling out all the hard earned cash all those years doing overtimes and weekends, you definately don't want to feel sorry later on. The posts by the two of you have cleared my Mind. I will be canceling my booking of the TBTS350 and i will wait for some more months and get the CBR250. Whether the abs or non-abs depends on the cash. 😬

Re: Need help please. TBird 350 vs CBR 250
Also i want to know if there is any difference between the previous model of TBTS and the recently launched TBTS digital model. Because many if my RE friends have been bombarding me over my decision to choose the CBR over the new TBird. According to them the new model doesn't have any major issues which the previous version had. I need a concrete answer to shut them up before they brainwash me. 😩😫

Re: Need help please. TBird 350 vs CBR 250
Well I am not sure what to say about the new TBTS because I haven't ridden it neither do I have any friends who have got it. One of my friends had it in his mind but he choose an R15 v2 instead. You are bound to be criticized by some RE fans for choosing any bike (not just CBR) over an RE product. They may have immense love for RE, but what matters is do you have it? Because it is you who is going to be buying the bike. In my opinion, CBR is manifold better than TBTS even the new model. You can reiterate what I have mentioned in my previous post to your friends. I'm quite sure that even the new TBTS won't be as good as the current CBR 250s out there.Originally posted by Zeeshan Naglekar View Post@Ezilkannan bro thanks for the info.
