  • suugest a good bike for my requirements

    Hi friends,

this is my first post in this site.

I was in great ambiguity to decide a first bike for me.

I have chosen Honda CB trigger,Suzuki GS 150r and Yamaha FZ but not able to decide which one to pick.

I am 26 and 5.7 in height with medium build.

Yamaha FZ :i have tested this bike.Every thing is good except mileage and pillion comfort

Honda CB Trigger :i have not done the test ride.Honda image is the plus and mileage is good according to reviews.
But front look not great(in my view). There is no update of engine same old unicorn engine.(At least Fuel Injection might have added)

Suzuki Gs 150r :I have seen so many positive reviews like good mileage and vibe free.
I have not done test ride(when i went to show room it was raining).I have checked the bike seems little heavy.

Mostly i will be riding in city(bangalore) limits only. So i need good handling with decent maintainance expences.I am not expert in bike driving.

According to my personality which one is over all good bike?

Please suggest me as soon as possible.you can suggest other good bikes also with good value for money(around INR80K)

      Welcome to xbhp Balu.
FZ is the choice if you plan to ride within CITY only. That too BLR, the chaos, no. of vehicles et all, FZ is a zip zap zoom choice.

Re: suugest a good bike for my requirements

Gs 150 is good but not so good quality compared to honda
Fz has poor FE about 30 kmpl

        Then Trigger suites your criteria

You want mileage, pillion comfort, FI, then why not HMC Glamour?
GSR150 is heavy and a bit tall too. Not sure how you will like it in traffic.

Re: suugest a good bike for my requirements

i am looking for 150cc bike thats why i didn't consider Glamour. I am not intended to buy only the bike having the FI just as a opinion i have shared.
One more thing i would like my bike to have good comfort for long journies as well(not touring may be 100 kms max).

Please give your feedback w.r.t TVS Apache 160 as well. (Even TVS also same feel like trigger which is not good at styling wise.)

I intended to keep the bike atleast for 5 yrs may be more.

so which one is a good buy?

Re: suugest a good bike for my requirements

Apache 160 is a good choice, so is FZ..
Apache would give you a slightly better mileage.. and good top end speed..
where as FZ is best suited for city ride, with super acceleration.. the newer fz has wider rear seat, so pillion comfort has been looked into and the economy is not this bad.. riders are having 35-40 km/l..
go for Fz mate.. would be best for you..

              Ride safe and have fun.

Re: suugest a good bike for my requirements

Here are my first impression on CB Trigger test ride. I hope this helps.

                Some pointers are :
                1. Engine is same as Unicorn, no change on that.
                2. Big Positive : Same refinement and relaxed riding as Unicorn. A big plus for me.
                3. Handle bars are bit wider for me. They want you to feel you have a relaxed ride in your hand.
                4. Engine feels lazy below 3000 RPM. After which it attains the right juice and acceleration.
                5. Gear shift seems a bit hard; the test ride bike was a showroom display bike so I don't expect it would have been ridden much.
                6. Seats are a let down for me, they are not that wide as I expected.
                7. Seating posture is great !!! Feels you are sitting on a sofa.
                8. Engine breaking is missing which is there in my pulsar 150.
                9. Instrument Panel is quite attractive, they are clearly readable in open sky. Since they are so exposed, I doubt readability in rains and extreme sunny conditions. I think design team should rethink the angle at which it sits.
                10. Couldn't tell about braking since it was a standard version. Also, suspension was not evaluated

I'm 500 kms old on FZ. I have been getting a mileage of 47 km/L before first servicing and 54 after that. I believe it depends on how you ride.

What do you mean engine breaking is missing... Never heard that. I guess all bikes have that.

                    Hi Nikhil,

If you have ridden Pulsar 150 you may come to know. Anyways, when you are running bike and the release the accelerator completely, it just does not runs just like that ... like a scooter...as if there is no one to stop it except bike weight itself. Instead, engine contributes to reducing the speed of bike and you can feel bike gets decelerated. That is engine braking.
I have felt that on Pulsar and TVS Apache.

I hope my explanation clears your doubt.

it seems like FZ is better buy.
I want to know about the mileage and maintenance of Yamaha FZ after 1 or 2 years.

                        please give me clear details

Costly spare parts, mileage is not more than 40 due to its rear Tyre....
