• Which bike to go for yamaha R15 or Fz-s ?

So here it goes . My first post in xbhp . i am going to sell my Honda Shine for Rs. 40,000. and Buy a bike in 2nd Hand . ( buy a used bike . second hand).

My Main options are Yamaha R 15 or Yamaha Fz-s or Pulsar 220 ( jus p220 fr a feedback).

My height is 6 feet ( im slim) and mostly am going to use it for 3 years for city ride .

the usage is simple just ride for college travel and hangout places in city . but for that i want a beast with killer looks and no top speed or racing stuff just a showoff and speedy one ( just speedy not fastest ) .

The main thing is after buying a moderately used one in second's (whichever from above options)

i am going to modify the bike to extreme level i.e.

1) by painting it to a different black and gold color .

2) By putting double exhaust system and modified green led head light .

so the mileage is not at all a concern to me .

Again its just for my solo riding purpose for college and hangouts . and am gonna do the modifications that i mentioned above .

so which one exactly will suit me to my needs ? please suggest me with a good choice .

kindly excuse if any silly questions because its my first post .

I'd suggest you do the same on your Shine! Sorry to be rude, but are you seriously kidding yourself?

1. You want to put green LED headlamps? Lol. What would you see at night? Goblins?
2. Dual exhausts on a single cylinder bike? Come on man!

See, whatever modifications you do to your stock bike is going to ruin it within 10k! Take it from me. I'm not against mods, but India doesn't have reliable TUNERS/TUNING HOUSES yet! All we have are TOONERS.
The Monk, how come you simply approved the query and didn't chime in with proper suggestions? How would people come to know the real facts if not voiced by senior riders! Grrr.
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Hey mate...

Congrats on going for a buy... But many things you've said is laughable by any person who knows about bikes... So if you want to not seem like a show offing dude who doesn't know anything about biking, kindly avoid the dual exhausts on the single cyl bike... It adds in needed weight and parts which will drag you down with extra weight and maintenance.

Trust me, you do all the mods you mentioned, the only people who will go 'wow' are people who have no clue about biking or the physics of it... Because any serious biker will know the performance dulling facade you built up in the name of style.

Anyway... You should go for something with a proven record for style and learn mastering the bike... A lot more people are impressed with a good bike rather than a show off tin can.

You are a senior rider who will guide him correctly. And you did just that! Approving truck loads of threads and posts and then having to move them around, because members don't bother posting in them in the correct section. It all takes a lot of time. Cannot read every word. Sometimes queries like this slip through.

@ TS Please don't do these ultra cheapo mods! Hang around on xBhp long enough and you will learn what biking is really about.

Sounds like you are from a rich background and all the mods that you have mentioned proves that you are still a kid..

learn about bikes first before doing any modifications..

even the most reliable bike in the world after modifications done in India will screw the bike and make it a complete failure..

I can understand from where you get all such thoughts.. kids in Chennai always talk about speed, modifications etc etc and no wonder why you have the same mind set..

Listen to what @Divya Sharan has mentioned and don't do any cheap mods to a bike... it is a machine and learn to respect them

be it a R15, P220 or FZ.. all will become a crap if have modifications in minds...

Go through the various forums and posts that the senior members have posted.. you will understand more and more..

Since you are gonna save money not doing any modifications.. you can go for a new bike.. master it and love it.. so your budget is fixed at 80000/- ??

Yamaha Fz or Pulsar 180. Better, restrict the budget to 80k and use the remaining 10k for helmet, riding jacket and gloves.
