The Karizma was in solid condition when dad decided to sell her off.. only problem was with the 2nd gear.. Got it fixed though.. otherwise no issues.. changed the bore kit at 45000... though the old bore wasn't so bad but replaced it for some other reason

        Re: Fed up of p220

Alright buddy, I think you made a good decision. But, please follow my advice seriously, and work on the below parameters:

        1. While starting in morning, start the engine and let it run idle without throttle for 30 seconds. The oil circulates the engine & keeps it well. Warm up is very important.

        2. Check oil levels every 3 or so days. Should they drop, fill it up right away. Always keep a 20W50 oil can handy for top ups. You'll see a glass window on your crankcase.
This window should be atleast half filled with oil visible.

        3. Always check oil condition and get it replaced if it requires so. Go for premium or common oil brands, like Motul, Castrol, etc. but avoid the Bajaj's 20W50 Oil sold in SVC's.

        4. Everytime on a new block piston kit, run your bike below 5000 rpm for first 1000 kms, and below 6000 rpm for the next 1000 kms. Then after 2000 kms is complete, you can rev harder relatively safely...

Remember, lesser oil is the reason of seizure in most cases. Run any motorcycle in the world without oil, and it WILL seize in 5-10 minutes of hard riding. Even an Xbhpian's R15 seized like that once- the Service centre forgot to fill in oil...
