Im giving second thought to my decision. Just want to ask-

Has any one been on touring with FZ16 ? Hows the pillion seat ? Not just for touring but say if u sit for some hours and riding continuously, how it feels to the person sitting behind? Any back, butt pains ?
Im thinking its worth compromising on mileage if FZ can fulfill my 'comfort on highway' requirement. Bcos im obsessed with the styling of this beast. Not just on highway but say on long, continuous rides of 2-3 hours. Btw hoe much mileage can FZ give in cities like Pune ?

FZ owners please share ur experience.

I am not an owner, so can't give you exact feedback you want, but pillion seat sure looks small and cramped up for a long tour.
Bikes like GS, Unicorn or KariZma have much better seats for touring.

here are my two cents of input:

If the rpms is kept under 4500 rpm and the thottle not more than 30%, it returns 55kmpl(at least thats how much my friend got)

So overall GS is overall the best suited bike for you until unless you feel it bulky as I felt.
yes, but I would like to add here something after having owning the zeus for almost two years:

        1. There is very little power in the 5th gear so in order to push the bike better in 5th gear, the throttle should be 100%. The fuel consumption increases drastically due to this. On the highway this drawback is clearly felt. The worst FE figures I got with zeus was 42kmpl. On the other hand if I ride it like a commuter bike, I got 65kmpl consistently.

        2. The resale value of the suzuki bikes is very low. After one year of ownership, I checked the resale value of my zeus. It was heart crunching 20k. Now nearly after 2 years its 18k.

Buy the ZUKI if you are planning to keep it for many years.

For your requirement apart from GS I would suggest:
        1. UNI
        2. CBZ

        raj.

          Thanks.

          @everyone:

Any news/rumors from Honda side? When generally new generation of Uni comes?

@kkrk2: Zeus is a 125cc bike with only 8.7 bhp which is the lowest in its class. Even lesser powered 110cc vehicles make the same output. No point in comparing Zeus with the GS150 which makes 14bhp.

Yes, Suzuki bikes (even TVS bikes for that matter) do have a lower resale value than Hero Honda&Bajaj respectively.

@Chauhan: I also felt the same about the FZ's pillion seat.

@vrooommm: Read the Bike India Feb. shootout of the GS150 vs.competition with other executive commuters.

No new gen of Uni, CBF150 is coming from Honda. It will most probably have a 120 section rear tyre that Honda is testing extensively with MRF. It will be to the Uni what the Stunner is to the Shine.

No new gen of Uni, but CBF150 is coming from Honda??

If so, I am game and can wait for a couple of months(in any case I'll be out of town for most of the time of the next couple of months ).

^Sagar: I would suggest you to wait for the new Honda and then decide.

I think a Honda with a 120mm rear tyre will be surely a good bike! Remember that P200 and P220 have 120mm rear tyres.

I am waiting for it with finger crossed for:

                    - price < 80k
                    - not heavier than current Unicorn
                    - looks better than current Unicorn
                    - new age features like: split handle, digi console, tubeless, ...
                    - FI (Am I demanding too much? but what can I do, "ye dil maange more" , with this I can go upto 85k ).
                    - Will be buying a bike around the mid of march, so I wish this is launched by that time.

I was not saying that these things are present in that bike and this just my wish list which I would like to see in a bike which I buy. As per the link and currency conversion, that bike can cost ~ 139 417.799 .. that is too much .. at least for me.

As far as i know, the CBR 150 will be discontinued. So a newly developed bike will be here.

Whats up with the after sales service of Suzuki? What about the spare parts? What will you do if it breaks down in the middle of no where when you are riding out there? Ask these questions before you buy the GS. On the other hand, the Unicorn shares most of its critical components with the HH Hunk and CBZX and with HH's extensive service network, you will really never be too far away from a spare parts center.

                              Cheers,

I know some places where u don't even get cycle repaired. forget the bike
but its wise to consider this since Suzuki is beginning in India. and it takes years to any company to set service network across countries like India. lets see anyways Im gonna wait few months.
