  • Planing to buy Pulsar 200ns or CBR 150r...?

    Hi Friends,

I am Hemanth Kumar Reddy, from Madanapalle. Recently i sold my Karizma R .. because of some millage problems and over weight of the bike..
Now i am planning to buy a bike.. I am 6 feet tall and i have 2 options in my mind .... those are Pulsar 200ns and CBR 150r .. Let me describe my opinions on both bikes.

1.Pulsar 200ns :--Completely New technology... Liquid cooling, 6 spark technology, 4 valve .. 23Bhp.. and good healthy tarque 18nm.. But i never ride this bike.. So i con;t say anything about this bike.. I read lot of reviews on different sites. Somebody saying there are lot of problems in this bike.. like vibrations, leakiage problems in radiator , over heating problems.. etc
But others saying it is best bike, excellent performance, good in riding comfort and so on...
So i am thinking to buy thinking to buy this bike or not.

    2. CBR 150R: --
New completely sports bike... Especially head-light .Now coming to the specification it has 17.85bhp@10,000rpm.. But torque is only 12nm... i think it will be sluggish in city traffic... No engine kill switch and pass button.. i thing it should be small bike .for my height.. while i am sitting on the bike...[Just my expectation].. I am thinking that price tag also high... where as pulsar 200ns giving more power and price tag also affordable.. even i don't know my parents will agree to buy this bike.... still i am thinking to buy this bike.. after reading all reviews from the internet lot of people telling that cbr is so smooth and vibrations free.. even in higher RPMS... So i am serious thinking about these bikes..?/

So friends pls give some valuable suggestions ..

    Thank you..

Go for CBR it will be better for your height
Also consider 250cc option for more power as CBR150 offers more or less same performance as your old ZMA..

Please go and check both of them first hand. Your choice will call you and will make a connection with your soul. That is the way to choose your bike. BTW there is no comparison between the P200NS and CBR150R. Both are equally competent bikes in their own segment. I request, please go and check them both out.

just a small correction! it has 3 spark plugs.

The P200NS is completely different from the old generation pulsars.. filled with new technology. if you ask me, i would suggest you go with the 200NS as the CBR will lack in power.

At the same time, test ride these bikes and select for yourself. at the end, its you who is gonna live with it every thought about the Duke 200?? it is a better deal than the CBR.. its gonna cost you almost same. Just a thought

Re: Planing to buy Pulsar 200ns or CBR 150r...?

I was also mad about CBR150R, I really love almost all the features of that bike and I would vote that as the best 150cc bike in India performance wise. . . After riding both many a times, let me put my points on both. . .

            1. Honda CBR150R: Firstly, refined engine, love the sound, awesome braking, flickability, handling is quite easy not that tight, has got good power for a 150cc bike and an able handler. . .

            2. Pulsar 200NS: The best pulsar till date, really good, sounds amazing, power is awesome, brakes I was really impressed, . . Other things to point out are good colours, best VFM product below 1 lac, is a high revving engine, blah blah blah so much to say. . .

I personally feel you should go for 200NS if you are looking for an upgrade but you want something similar to your previous bike with good performance and handling, then CBR150R is your's. . .

As we say all the time, test ride both to know about them. . .

            Cheers!!!

In my opinion you should go for the Pulsar 200ns.

Previous week I was in the same situation as of yours and couldnt decide btw the ZMR, P200NS, CBR150R. And I booked a P200NS. You are tall guy like me, I am 6'2", so you would easily ride the NS. CBR has a low torque and low quality switches with a very high price of approx 1.34 lacs OTR Delhi.

So, I would advice you to go for the P 200NS, test ride it first. Save 30 grand as a NS comes at 1 lac OTR Delhi. And use the saved money to buy a good helmet and riding gear.

Thanks for your responses friends.... what i am thinking is 200ns is not attracting like CBR 150 .. and also some people complaining about Vibrations, coolant leaking in radiator .. So i am thinking about these issues.. But there no these kind of issues in CBR 150r. But in our city bajaj and Honda not giving bikes for test ride... even my friends doesn't have these bikes... Can anybody know what is the millage of CBR150r..??? Is it really lack in power.. If yes then what the use to pay 1,44,000[Tirupathi Showroom price] to pay for this bike..

What do you want a 1 lakh plus 150 cc bike having not even a engine kill switch or a 200 cc amounting to 1 lakh having almost evrything and the power to beat a Cbr150 r and a r15? You make the choice. I had a 220 sold it recently and got my 200 NS 10 days ago. Believe me if u get the 200 you will be flying. And most of the defects on the NS were on the earlier ones and the newer ones have been rectified of the earlier problems by bajaj.

200NS. is a pulsar.. lot of improvements but still a Bajaj.. period..

I don't think going from Honda to Bajaj, you can accept that. in terms of refinement and vibrations.
                      my suggestions:

lot of Touring - increase your budget for more power. or buy 200NS
city riding with some touring- get cbr 150.. there should be enough of power.

Lol proud owner of 200 ns and most of things you mentioned are in case of bile falls or accident, except for vibrations which can be rectified by using other oils. I understand your concern over reliability of bajaj bike had a 180 dtsi old generation of my brother with me for year it has problems, and required lot maintenance but on 200 ns there are no such problems. I traveled 300 kms in a day I.e. 6-7 hours and bike run without any problems so its up to you to chose one which gives a new tech with more power and torque or settle with something which is a showpiece at high cost

Maybe it's exactly what I had to say. I bought this thing like 8 months back. Everything is good except that it's Bajaj. Here are the issues I faced so far.

You'll notice a sharp decline in mileage after 3-4 weeks post service, useless rear mudguard, coolant evaporates sometimes without reason, poor turning radius, spares availability is a pain in the a**, Self-start only meaning you're screwed if your battery is down (or) fuse is gone. And the biggest concern is Bajaj Service centres. Nobody will listen to your actual problems and fix your bike for you. They'll only clean and change oil for your bike.

On the bright side, excellent handling and pickup, great breaks (with good tires, not stock ones).

Sadly, out of the 3 bikes you kept in the poll, P200NS is the one worth the money you pay...
