One more here, previous friend's karizma rider , NO it won't heat up that much as said by someone and also it's good for highways, that's what it is actually , a sports tourer . . .

    Cheers!!!

Going by your height and budget, which is 1lac and we don't know how much it can be extended, I can only think of the following bikes:
      1. Yamaha FZ/FZ-S/Fazer - Commuter/Tourer
      2. TVS Apache 180 ABS - Commuter/Tourer
      3. Hero Karizma - Commuter/Tourer
      4. Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS - Commuter/Tourer (you don't like this)
      5. Yamaha R15 - Track oriented (It is manageable for long tours as I have done myself, riding round trips from Pune-Bangalore & Pune-Hyderabad. But if you really wanna go for this, wait for some time till they launch the new R15 which will have O2 sensor and many other advanced technologies).
      6. KTM Duke 200 - Commuter/Tourer
      7. Royal Enfield Classic 350/Thunderbird 350 - Cruiser
      8. Honda CBR 150R - Sports Tourer
      9. Honda Trigger - Commuter/Tourer
      10. Bajaj Avenger 220 - Cruiser

All the above are very good bikes suiting your need in terms of price. Now which one to opt out for is up to you. But GT250R will be a bit odd for you in terms of your height. Go and test drive them and take your pick.

I have not ridden a CB Trigger, but as it comes from Honda stable, it will surely have a good refined engine. Well the bike is actually in the FZ class but it has not picked up sales that much or created that much craving for as FZ did when it was launched. But as the riding preferences vary person to person you may like it very much. So before you buy anything test ride one. Which you will feel to be comfortable, buy it.

You don't want a Duke, a pulsar, a faired bike or an enfield. What remains in the Indian market then Still...

I have ridden a CB trigger for a day. It's comfortable but you might find it a tad underpowered. else it's an awesome commuter. Though you say all your brothers have Dukes so it might fade in comparision IMO.

Going for a used comet 250 is advisable only if you can take chances with it's reliability/availability of spares and mechanics or can do a lot of Do-It-Yourself stuff on it. But since you are a self-proclaimed noob, don't go for it.

            Lastly..

Head to a Hero Showroom. And test ride the Karizma R and Impulse.

Or just go get yourself a Karizma R (Your build and need for really looooooooooooong rides will be taken care of)

            Happy riding!
The way you ride is the way you are..
