For Helmet go with LS2(3800 approx. min) or SOL (Good one around 5000)
For Jacket - Go for Helois or Triton (6000 approx) or you could choose cramster.
For Gloves - its your option, good full covered touring gloves cost 2000 min.

I've already bought STUDDS helmet for Rs 2050 and was planning to buy Cramster Breezer 4 jacket. For gloves, I was thinking of choosing between Cramster Flux and DSG Moto Mesh. Summers have just set in in Delhi and I would spend the next few months in running-in the engine and getting my hands set on the bike. Its my first bike and it'll take me some time to get used to riding a bike and thats why I shortlisted these gloves and jacket. I've heard that these are good for summer riding.

Good choise on Jacket, but why not cramster twister rather flux??? you would get comfort in touring with leather..

        ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Am also now in Dharuhera only.. Am comfortable with leather gloves in both winter & summer, just that you can use some woolen gloves in winter inside..

I haven't really seen the Twister. I visited some stores in the last week of March and there wasn't much stock available at that time due to FY closing. I had shortlisted Flux and Moto Mesh after going through various ownership threads and forums. If Twister are good enough, I wouldn't mind looking at them as well, considering that they're at the same price range as the Flux.

Is there truth to the fact that the red ABS model only comes in the red-silver colour combination? The dealer is telling me that the full red colour is only available in the STD model and that honda only makes the red-silver colour in ABS.

Thats what i had also found out during the extensive pre-booking research that i had done. I guess ita better to cancel the booking and speak to another dealer for this. This one seems to be trying to take me for a ride...

Re: Which Bike in the 250cc segment?

                  Surprising turn of events...

Yesterday, I sat with the list of all Honda dealers in Delhi and called each one of them the way a tele-caller does to enquire about all colours available with each of them. I was surprised with the result. One dealer had the red one in stock and 5 of them had the black one in stock. I hadn't called any of these earlier as they were all too far away from home/office. I went to the dealer who had the red one immediately, confirmed (thrice...!!!) whether it was actually the new red colour (and ABS only) and booked the bike. He promised delivery today and I rushed to the bank to get the DD made just before the bank closed for the day.

At night, I messaged my friend (who had been with me through the entire process for the last 20 days)
Me: Yaar meri gut feel keh rhi hai ki kal bike ki delivery mein kuch gadbad hone wali hai...
Friend: Kuch nhi hone wala, tu tension na le...
Me: I hope ki kal mil jaaye, aur correct red colour hi mile...pichle 3 hafton mein jo hua hai, to abhi bhi lag rha hai shayad kuch gadbad hogi...
Friend: Mil jaayegi sahi bike, sab theek hoga...

Today morning, I got a call from the showroom, confirming that the bike is here and it'll be ready in 1 hour. The excitement level went sky high, but I still tried not to show it (woh kehte hain na, dhol zaada peetne se fatt jaata hai). We went to the dealer in the afternoon and saw the red, black and repsol colours displayed inside the showroom.

That first look at the 3 bikes and me and my friend look at each other. We didn't speak for a minute, but our eyes conveyed the message to each other.

The black one stood apart. The red one looked beautiful, no doubt, but the black one was beyond that.

The guys at the showroom had got the red one ready for delivery, it was polished and ready to be taken out. I asked them if the change in colour was possible, and they were extremely accomodating. I finalised the black one, got the exhaust muffler changed (it had scratches), and it took 2 hours to get the black one ready, polished, and for the paperwork to be done and we were out with it.

Here are some pics of the bike.

P.S.: The helmet and gloves were worn throughout the way...

Who could've thought... After struggling with a dealer for more than 3 weeks, I finally found the bike that I was looking for.

The 40km ride home was exciting to say the least. I will write a small initial ride experience a little later.

Thanks to all the Xbhp friends who have advised, helped, motivated and been there all the time. Your support has been important through this experience and I hope it continues for good times to come...

                  Thanks again...

You need to lose some weight else won't find this bike suitable for long time....Currently you are on high adrenaline!!

Congrats!! Good Color I personally like Black color on CBR and R15.

I personally, don't like CBR's Exhaust design!! Don't know what was in mind of the designer ??
If it's the same case then get it changed with some better exhausts from good brands!!

And welcome to the ass frustration league !! Long waiting Queues and Waiting for spare parts!! Actually this can be the scenario for few SVC which I have seen.
But what all I have noticed is unavailability of spares!!

But this pain goes off when you feel the ride and your enjoyment.. Can bare with Honda once in every 3-4 months!!
