    Friends, I need urgent help....

    I am getting a 2 year old IGNITOR driven only 5200 kms and completely scratchless in 45 K (on road price is 67 k here ). I have TD it and it seems perfectly ok. one thing is it had only 2 years warranty, which has lapsed So is this deal worth it??

      Ignitor is a good bike . But

      Buying a second hand bike is safe only if you personally know the sellar and are sure that the bike was maintained properly, serviced on time and did not have any major crashes.

      Things to do, if you are going for a second hand bike:

      check the service book of the bike you want, It has service record pages. These service records contain the date of services, the kms bike had run at the time of the service, the work done on the bike, the parts replaced if any. These records have authorized service center stamp and signature. Also check for the computerised bills of the service, it will also have the above info and you can cross check the service book with the bill to make sure.

      And finally, if you do get a second hand bike that you'd buy, take a knowledgeable mechanic with you and have the bike thoroughly checked before finalizing the deal. We may overlook many small things but a mechanic will detect even a small fault. Make friends with him and pay him 200 Rs, and he'll give you accurate report about bike.

        Test Ride all the bikes you have mentioned and go for the bike that makes your heart want to ride it again and again..

          Seems a good deal to me(but try to lower the price by at least 2-3k as you might need to spend some money after purchase). But, as Ankey has mentioned, take a good mechanic with you so that the minutest fault can be detected.

            The original price asked by the seller was 49. He has come down to 45 K and agreed to renew the insurance and pollution docs, where else do I need to spend 2-3k (apart from name transfer)?

              Maybe some minor jobs like engine oil change, air filter change, a full servicing etc.

                If the sellar has agreed to renew the pollution and insurance, then its ok. Make sure that the insurance is renewed after the papers are transferred to your name. otherwise, you will have registration of your name (new rc), and insurance papers will have the old owners name (old rc xerox given at the time of renewal).

                The 2-3k extra can be spent in proper servicing and overhauling of the bike. If all seems ok, then go for it.

                    Thanks all for your suggestions. My heart didn't allow me to buy a second hand bike. I have test ridden others as well, Finally I am going for Yamaha SS 125 red and white.

                      Considet SZ-R which is coming at 2000rs/- more than ss125 here in delhi...

                          I had considered it, Actually SZ has 2 variants now SZ S and SZ RR, SZ RR looks great, I took TD and just loved it, but there are 3 main reasons, I opted SS over it
                          1) It costs 7000 more.
                          2) It gives millage of almost 40 which is much less than that of SS (55)
                          3) Review by some friends and also on MS was not so good.
