    +1 for that.
If you are not planning to be a stiff competition to MM or VR, it's very unlikely that you need that level of speed very often. Tour @ excess speed of 100-110 and you defeat the very purpose of touring. Also, almost all the bikes would reach their peak at that speed and it'd be near impossible for those bikes to stop suddenly. NS/Apache 180/Duke200/Karizma all fall in this bracket.
Keeping all this in mind, you can opt for any one between the Karizma twins. And it seems you already now how good they are. Outright power can't be the only criteria for selecting a bike. It's only one of the criteria along with many other aspects.

      +1 to your post..

Top speed in India is a criteria for school kids and college going kids. A humble biker would never consider the top speed as the main criteria unless he/she is going to participate in a bike race. Even then top speed wont be a criteria at all times.. even the fastest bike has never beaten the fastest rider.. there are so many other criterias even for racing in tracks and people cry over top speed on public roads.

@TS. Buddy.. best way to choose the bike for you is to test ride..

my priorities were different right from the day i got hold of the Karizma keys back in 2003. Done a couple of touring on her and she never betrayed me once..

On my ZMR alias Black Pearl I have done plenty of tours. Never back stabbed me even once.. did a New Delhi to Coimbatore and back solo ride in 7.5 days including 2.5 days stay in Coimbatore.. bike is a perfect touring machine which can also be used for daily commuting without any hassles.. it might take some time to get used to it due to the size but since you have already used a Karizma, it wont be an issue for you. Again. Test ride and choose the one you like.

If you want to enjoy on highways:
        1. Karizma
        2. 200nS
        3. Duke

For fun in city, reverse the above list.

+1 to all of you guys. And there is no need to get so worked up to the comments of ignorant people. Com on, the guy just said that R15 and CBR are only for poser. R15 is powerless. Anybody who knew just a little bit about bikes would know what revolutions R15 and CBR brought to Indian biking industry. The technology, the refinement, fuel injection systems, liquid cooling. These are the same types of people who own a Pulsar 220 and think that oil cooled and liquid cooled bikes are same. And when asked what type of coolant does his 220 use. they have no answer, and then when someone tries to explain them the difference, rather than learning new, they start arguing.

So relax. And I just realized, I have lit the fuse for an argument.

            It's got crisp throttle response.
Increases reliability by a huge margin. Why? It adjusts the afr such that it is suitable for the engine.
No cold start problems. No nuisance.
Of all the debates I've seen, its always the FI that is prefered. Why else would companies prefer going FI over carb, though it means increase in costs? Of not now, then, going by the trends, within few years, almost all bikes may have fi. That's the situation with cars rite now.
FI is not the only criteria fine. But its advantages cannot be ignored either. If there are criteras for selecting a bike, then, for me, FI comes first..
2: The new karizma doesn't "die" after 115. Had you made that statement in the ownership thread, you would have got replies worth suiting your statement. Hold on. Is that difference in top end even worth a thought for selecting a bike? Tell me. Do you go racing at triple digits when you are commuting or touring? You need good torque for commuting which the karizma has ample of. You need reliability to do 110 for long hours which the karizma has proved and so have many other. But, do you go at 130-140 on indian roads when you are touring? Top speed has to be a criteria for racers. For what the TS has mentioned, i think that's an absolute bullshit critera to talk about. You need touring, talk of comfort and reliability to do 100-110 for long hours. Not freaking top speeds!
3: Agree to that point. Since it is subjective, i felt zmr was better looking than duke or karizma and told the same...

I ride both the old and the new zmrs almost daily. It's my neighbour's. I just love the posture and the uniform smooth acceleration. Its worth every upgrade over the old one. But not as refined as the old one. Maybe cause of the increased power.

Re: which Bike to buy for tall(6.1) me - perfomance and comfort !

Since a lot of people have already given you insights on choices, I shall come to your point. The Gixxer looks like a good product. Well most Suzuki products are. And based on the ownership review, I see that it can cruise at 85-90kmph. But it boils down to your style of riding. The Gixxer is actually a sporty commuter targeted at the youth, which is precisely you. But we need to factor in the touring aspect in your case. If you are not a speed junkie and 90kmph is good enough for you, then the Gixxer makes sense. But remember that the other bikes that were suggested here are in a different league of power, torque, acceleration etc. Also if you are riding in a group with higher displacement bikes like the NS or Karizma, you will have a hard time catching up. If touring at high speeds is one of your top requirements, then I would not suggest the Gixxer. Also higher displacement bikes will be more relaxed at higher speeds which translates to a relaxed rider.

                    My budget - 80,000 - 1,50,000.
                    Age 24 Weight 64kg
Intended Usage - Office commute sometimes , Highway runs and Long rides
Fuel Effeciency requirement - Respectable Fuel Efficiency
Approximate Monthly running - More then 300 kms on average plus the tours and long rides !
                    City - Mumbai

My requirements are in the following order

1 Comfortable to ride for a tall guy and good sitting position
2 Power when I need it
                    3 Refined engine
                    4 Good braking

Bike that I own - RX100(28 years old and still running)I really cant ride it everyday on take it for long tours. Now I am looking to buy a bike that suits my power needs and comfort. I have used my friends Karizma - R for 2 years and I really loved riding it everyday every time.

                    My questions

                    1) I wished to continue with Karizma and wanted to buy a classic like Karizma R but now the old version is no longer available and I am not sure if the new version really that good!
                    2) KTM duke seems like a mix of both power and comfort but I doubt if it would be comfortable for a tall guy like me.
                    3) Karizma ZMR, Cbr 150 and 200Ns are also under my radar. I had the opportunity to ride zmr and cbr 150 and I liked both.
                    4) I love all Yamaha bikes specially street fighters but yamaha fz is a little short for me and maybe I wont be that comfortable riding in traffic.

I dont want a cruiser so Royal Enfield's are out of option. Also, I don't prefer bikes with aggressive frame! Yamaha R15 would be a no for the same reason.

PS- I think need a mix of Karizma and Rx

Your suggestions will be really appreciated.
                    Hi,

I want to suggest you gixxer but I doubt its touring capability. Why don't you try pulsar 200 ns and suzuki gs150r which is the previous model to gixxer. Else buy any of the new karizma, the seating might look sporty but really comfortable compared to other bikes

                            Fazer
Pros: Nice riding posture, Excellent looks, Good FE (Fuel Injected Version), Good low end torque, Nice build quality.
Cons: May not suit your height, Poor Yamaha service, Severely underpowered for high speed cruising, Fairing adds weight to the front wheel, Expensive for an air cooled 150cc.

                            Karizma(2014)
Pros: Nice riding posture (sporty though), Excellent low end and midrange, triple digit cruising ability, Instant throttle response, Decent build quality, Awesome FE (only ZMR), Capable service centres all around.
Cons: Looks (Subjective), Refinement lost compared to previous versions (Not bad though), long term problems are unknown since it is new, No engine kill switch yet!

                            200NS
Pros: Nice upright posture, Linear power delivery, triple digit cruising ability, good looks (subjective), service is generally OK, decent FE, Truly VFM.
Cons: Suffers from minor quality issues, mild vibrations at certain rpms, I think they come with TVS tyres.

My vote goes for NS. However please read through the ownership threads of all three bikes before deciding. Also take a test ride. Take your time, be patient and match your requirements with the bike.

                              Go for NS...

I was in the same dilemma...
I narrowed down to RTR 180 vs Pulsar 200NS...

                              RTR comes with ABS...
But it is old engine with no recent upgrades...

I bought NS 2weeks ago. I'm 5'11 too 80kgs. I'd say good I opted out of RTR. More than glad with NS...
