    Re: Pulsar 200ns or R15 v2 !!

Similar performance, good levels of power, but lacks oomph! Especially if you're a heavy rider. I would go for the NS clearly because it's comparatively cheap when it comes to maintenance. But if that's not a priority then it's R15 all the way.

Bajaj is coming with pulsar ns 150/160 which looks same as pulsar 200ns. You will lose premium feel when small ns launched.

Only Acceleration is not matters because I have choose ns for the following reason
      1.cheap as compared to yamaha r15 (33000).in 2013
2.more power than r15 and top speed.
      3.easily available spare parts.
4.seating position as compared to r15.

      Pros
      1. Excellent value for money deal.
      2. Power and outright performance unmatched by R15.
      3. Widespread Bajaj service network.
      4. Absence of fairing means it is cheaper to repair after crashing.
      5. More street friendly riding position compared to the R15.

      Cons
      1. Lacks refinement compared to R15.
      2. Bajaj quality is okay but not consistently good like the Japs (Yamaha, Suzuki etc.)
      3. Bigger engine and higher compression ratio than R15 means lesser fuel efficiency.

      Yamaha R15:
      Pros:
      1. Brilliant handling....probably the best this side of 2 lakh rupees.(based on what I\\\\\\\'ve heard/read...I\\\\\\\'ve ridden the R15 only for short distances)
      2. Supreme reliability and build quality.....I\\\\\\\'ve heard reports of R15s being redlined for whole days on the track and performing exactly the same the next day.
      3. Better fuel economy.
      4. Looks better, but then that is subjective.

      Cons:
      1. Lower VFM than the 200NS.
      2. Extremely focused riding position gets tiresome, and pillion comfort is negligible.
      3. More expensive to repair after a crash.
Hi Ajinx, nicely said. Here I\'m quite attracted towards R15 but as its aggresive riding position & difficult to handle in high traffic is the thing i\'m fearing a lot. Also the heavy fairing

If you like faring poser- R15.
      Else 200ns.
      Thing is ..
The lack of refinement(w.r.t. r15) is taken care by ns\\\'s crazy acceleration.
The lack of speed and swiftness in r15 is taken care by smoothness of ride.
      Thats all.

      thanks Anuj_Gupta.

As earlier I rode RTR 180, hence crazy vibes are no issues for me, these can be handled by using good engine oil & proper seervicing of bike. What I\'m concerned about NS is about Chain & gear box issue (As I saw on some fourm pages) . Can anyone throw some light on this also. That wold be great.
Is it true that bike looses its power after a while (as someone haa written that bike lost power after few months).
      Thanks in advance

The vibes are the least of your worries mate. There is a long list of problems associate with NS. There is a special thread dedicated only for this purpose ie. problems with Pulsar 200NS. Read it to find out. Here\'s the link.

Well, since you have used an RTR180, you would find it easier than most to adjust to the R15\'s seating posture. But since possibly you want more power from an upgrade (RTR180 and R15 produce nearly the same peak power), the NS could be it for you. Also, the R15\'s handling advantage will only be apparent on a racetrack, I think. For the daily commute and a bit of weekend fun, the NS is perfect.
Tell you what though- if you could stretch your budget a bit, the Duke 200 is the perfect bike for you. Comfortable seating, reliable, high quality parts, and insane fun to ride. It\'s blisteringly quick too-there\'s no bike like it until you go up to the bigger KTMs. Also, you said you prefer a naked.

Yes, you are right some problems were rectified in the later batches, and the new ones are almost niggle free, but of course its nowhere as reliable and hassle free as the japs.

Yep you are right but I've decided to prefer Naked over Faired, monstrous power over extreme smoothness, Delivery scheduled for tomorrow of NS

LOL , had a face off with a dude on NS vs my gixxer yesterday on the curvy roads of Mussoorie though he easily took over with the brute force on straight roads but struggled to keep up with little gixxer on curves . 155 was no match for a 200cc but sharp bends made the race bit interesting

Hehe, yes it is of no match, btw how gixxer performs on curvy roads.. Never had a chance to drive one so asking just out of curiosity :P

Gixxer 155cc a Light weight bike with wide tyres specifically designed to assist sharp maneuvers that is some thing like a 'F16' in fighter jet category though NS is 'SU30 MKI ' but both are champions of there league.

my NS was a result of breakup with my girlriend. Since Feb 2012, many girls have come and gone BUT the NS stuck with me like a ant sticks to honey. I did Delhi-Narkanda-Delhi on Holi Weekend. Left at 5:30 am from East Delhi and reached Circular road, Shimla @ 11:15.and not once i found myself or the bike getting out of control.NS will be your best investment. count on me.Congrats again.BUT, be ready to dish out at least 2000 buck on service every 6000 kms. Change whatever part needs to be changed. Keep the NS in top shape. and it will never let you down.
