  • Choosing 600+ cc bike

    Hi Guys,

I am looking for 600+ cc bike. These days we are lucky as many companies are entering Indian soil. Like on 19th March, Benelli is launching its range. I have a budget of Max 7 Lac. Looking for a beauty as a long term affair. So we have contenders like :
    Benelli BN 600i
    Ducati Monster 795
    Triumph
    Honda's upcoming 650F

Let me know if you guys suggest anything else. Please share your reviews.

    What Bike Query approved.

Just few days ago, you were discussing a 390-500cc bike, so you changed your mind now?

Among the above, only Monster 795 is a V Twin, and the Benelli and Honda are inline 4 engines, and by "Triumph", I guess you mean Street Triple which is an inline three cylinder.

With practically no info on what kind of bike you actually want (or need), and what kind of rider you are, I have no idea what to suggest you.
Since you said long term, let's assume Honda will be as reliable as people say it is. So, you can go ahead with CBR 650F...

Please give more information, if you want some genuine advice. What Bike is not a Review section. Its a case-specific suggestion section.

You cant a Triumph in 7 lakhs. tleast not the Street Triple. About the Bonneville family, I know not.
And if speculation is to believed, neither can you get the Honda for that much.

The monster or the Benelli are your only bets, unless you want to go the Harley way.

PS: Not interested in Ninja ER6F or ER6N

Ummmm..Benelli and 650f might not come under your radar as 650F sadly takes only 5% localisation, so we can expect a price tag of >7.5L ex-showrrom, same is the case with Benelli, Inline 4, cheapest offering in it category, hopefully, but again the pricing from recent news is upward of 6.5L ex-showroom, your best bet could be 795 or Ninja 650. I guess you are not the cruiser type of guy, since Triumph offers only 1 in that range of price which is the Bonnie.

So, what is going to be your pick with all these laid down...
        R15S - Current
        Honda Dio - Current
        TNT 600i - Sold
        Classic 500 - Sold
        Pulsar 220 dtsi - Sold
        Yamaha YBX125 - Sold

The benelli 600i would be 6 lacs On Road...
That is what I was told here in Bangalore Benelli dealership

The benelli he is talking of is the 600, not the 899.

Yes its true that few days back I was concentrating on D390 or upcoming CBR 500. No Doubt D390 is a grt bike seeing its price but it lacks on road presence & build quality. For Honda, no one is sure when they plan to launch CBR500. I am a guy who loves sports tourer. As I am looking for long term investment (6-7 Yrs) with a budget around 7 Lac, I need to narrow down my search for any top 2 contenders. I am in touch with DSK Benelli guys and eagerly waiting for BN600i price launch. If it fits under my budget, its going to be top contender. BN600i's Italian styling, inline-4 cylinder, under seat 2 exhaust etc blows your mind. Apart from that I am also considering used Harley Iron883 as new one out of budget as it required few mandatory upgrades that cost me around 9 Lac total.
I am not a fan of Triumph Bonneville. Rest of the Triumph goes out of my budget.

Just speculations...looking at the existing prices...may be 6.5L OTR is a good one.

Any reason for keeping Ninha 650 or ER6N totally out?

Woooow... very competitive price. Now 600i is a top contender in my list. I hope it comes under 6L on road. Looking forward to test drive soon

oops..Just read the other thread..all prices are ex-showroom...IMO 899 is over priced a bit. Must have brought close to Z800.
