    Re: Choosing 600+ cc bike

Still waiting for Delhi dealership inauguration. Back in my mind, I was comparing to choose between TNT 600i & used HD Iron 883. As both cost same. I hope after a good test drive of Italian beauty, it would be easier to choose one. Any suggestions?

From your posts it seems you want a superbike with the 'wow' factor. If you are bowled out by the Benelli's looks, go for it. Harleys are already maintenance intensive when new so I would shy away from getting a used one, until i know it's owner's use personally.

By the way, you said you want sport tourers. Both of these bikes are not that. The 600i is a street naked while the 883 is a cruiser.

P.S : The 600i is not italian too
The way you ride is the way you are..

Thanks for sharing your view. Yes I agree, Benelli is now owned by Chinese and manufacturing 600i there too. But the R&D & design for 600i done in Italy. Lets wait for the 600i test drive which I hope will clears all its manufacturing marvel & finish.

Just a question. Why are you so optimistic about Benelli and completely ignored Kawasaki? Yes, Benelli looks like a great deal on papers but the fact is it's sold under DSK badge. It's the same company which is selling Hyosung in India. Just doing a quick google search on "Hyosung After sales service" or fiddling superbikes groups on Facebook you'll learn that Hyosung customers usually sell their bikes within few months of purchase(No offence to happy Hyosung customers). Reason? Poor after sales service, spares availability and lack of service centers across the country. I also think Benelli don't have too much of options for aftermarket mods either.

Honda also sound like a great deal but if you remember correctly everyone is aware of spare availability issues with CBR250R in it's first few years of launch.

As a happy Kawasaki owner I'd suggest you to blindly go with Ninja 650 or ER6N. Service guys are really great and spares availability is never an issue. Even if something isn't available it arrives within a week or less as it's one of the most sold bikes in India.

I love Kawi's look but not the sound. Benelli has an advantage on in-line 4 cylinder. Last week I got a chance to sit on TNT 600i at Delhi dealership. I must say it has a lot bigger appeal on road and will be a head turner. Its under seat stock exhaust takes ur breath away. Unfortunately didn't got a test drive as the dealership is not officially launched. It was delaying from last 1 and a half months due to different reasons. I don't know why XBHP not added Benelli in their bike list when we check bike selector section. Not even any Xbhp expert bike review for TNT 600i.

                        Re: Choosing 600+ cc bike

After a non satisfactory before sales service from Benelli, I decided to move on to my 2nd choice. The stunning used 2012 Harley Davidson Iron883. Loaded with Screaming Eagle all black exhaust, rear seat + back rest, rear seat foot pegs, metal hand grips, LED rear lights, skull fuel cap & Harley helmet. I was thrilled with the test ride and decided to own it right way. The OD meter reads 9800 only. Took a Sunday early morning ride on NH8. Really it was like riding an army tank. The mix sound of V-twins & exhaust takes your breath away. The real pleasure come after crossing 60 km/h. Looking forward to enhance it with fold-able rear number plate, HID/Projector headlight, etc. Check the attached pic.

First Benelli DSK guys keep on postponing the Delhi launch from last 2 months due to their legal issue. Whenever I call them, every time they assured me next week launch and will update me. I also requested them to arrange a meeting or call with their technical team as I have few Q abt 600i. But I never got any update from any team.
Second: at last I called to Benelli Pune office and had a chat with North India manager. He too assured me to update regarding the Delhi launch & will arrange technical team with test drive. The launch happened but till now they didn't care to update the prospect customers. I dont know, may b I am expecting more from Benelli DSK on customer service.
I think these couple of experience are enough to park it side for some time and enjoy my Harley ride. Let Benelli prove its real potential in coming year. My best wishes.

I guess everybody has/had their fair-share of experience. When I walked in with my friend into a Harley showroom in Chennai, There was a group of guys who has come to look at few vehicles (god knows where they came from). Believe it or not, the entire floor of representatives were attending those people alone and I had to literally wait for good 40 mins to get a person and ask us "What you guys want". Out of frustration I was about to say "I need tickets to send your manager to Hell, can you get me" ....

So, Can i quote then, harley needs to know how to treat their customers. Lets say, if you had this sort of experience, Would you have sidelined the Iron883 as well. Lets not draw to any such conclusion soon.
