  • R15 or ninja 250??

hiiii guy i'm gideon & 18 years..6.2 foot tall..i have a hh hunk currently but want to switch on to a new one..i'm confused wit the R15 & ninja 250..since there's no fuel injected version on the ninka 250 i'm double minded about it!!! i like the R15 but will it suit for my height...if possible suggest a bike which suites me....

    Topic Approved.

The Ninja is not yet out. Based on the comparisons though, I would atleast personally suggest you wait for the Ninja 250. Perhaps, by that time Bajaj or other manufacturers as well will launch other machines as well. Hopefully!

Well, Ninja 250R is anytime better than R15.
But be practical, what will be aftersale service? Bajaj guys confused at P220 servicing , what we can expect them from Ninja. Me personally suggest you to stay out from Bajaj.
Wait sometime , some other companies come out with a surprise.

Wait till Ninja is out...some other 250 might also be in the market by then. R15 performance kit is also supposed to be launched. I guess waiting till July is the best thing to do, then you can decide according to your budget&wallet!

I would say the Ninja 250. My wife had one for 3 years, and I used to love to ride it as much as my 4 cylinder honda!

My wife loved it as well..... we will probably get it for her once it is launched in India.

Don't worry about the bike behaving well in traffic. its very light and nimble so you will not notice any difference between that and the R15.

Don't forget the Ninja is a twin cylinder, the R15/16 are both a single cylinder bike.

The Ninja's engine is a screamer.... red line at 14500 rpm, you will not get that with any other smaller(250cc or less) bikes that are sold in India.

But I guess the price could be the killer... I think the Ninja will be 3Lakhs+

As for the mileage my Ninja did about 70 miles per gallon which is about 30KMPL, but I have known people who g0t 22KMPL, i guess your riding style will decide that.

The Engine for the 2008/09 Ninja is an improved version of the pre 2008 engine. That design is atleast 20 years old and is very reliable, maintainence should not be a problem if you don't abuse the bike, and are regular with oil changes.
