This is the exact question i had in mind... i had been saving up for the Ninja and the tough part is over, but things are even more tough now...how long could one wait for a bike jus in papers with money in hand....every R 15 in the road is looking in to my eyes and telling me that i am missing some thing.... Does any one actually know when this bike is getting launced ?

Gideontony go for the Ninja, but how long are you willing to wait...i believe it more than an year now. since the first info of Ninja in India.

Yes, Ninja is anytime a lot better than R15 but what will be the aftersale service?
I don't know about other PBK showrooms but Nagpur's Arun Automobile have the mechanics who don't even have full knowledge about P220, so what we can expect them for Ninja's scheduled servicing?
Remember Ninja is a SBK, quite a lot different from our onroad bikes, they need professionals to be taken care for servicing.
Atleast no more Bajaj for me.

ninja-250 is far better then that of r-15...no doubts...
Its not about how fast you ride....its about how much respect you give to other riders on road....

These are Jap bikes, other than the basic oil change and air filter clean up they do not need anything, if you own a bike I would say learn how to service it....... you can do almost 95% of the work at home.

There is a company called Haynes that makes workshop manuals for all kinds of cars and bikes, have someone in US or UK buy one for you, or buy it on amazon and have Amazon ship it to India.

That manual will give you step by step instructions on everything, you dont need some Monkey with a wrench touching your favourite bike.

I have not seen this thread before, but I feel it is a ridiculous thread handling a really DUMB question. How can you even contemplate buying a bike that does not even exist in the market!
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

no point waiting for the ninja 250. even till july, there is no confirmed news of it being launched. so I suggest you wait till july, if something new is there then certainly you have the answer.

R15 is going nowhere&nothing concrete about Ninja yet. I almost sold off my R15 thinking the Ninja is coming. Now I'm glad I revoked my decision. So I say, wait till July atleast before deciding!
On the other hand, you can buy both also if you like them-thats what I'm planning to do.

Sabar ka fal meetha hota hai...... the factor is what is the need of that person........ if he has the option of waiting another few months, its fine for him....... wait for ninja......... but if its urgent requirement go for R15........
                            I'm waiting......

Both are different bikes. 1:2 cylinder! But unfortunately its too early to make a decision. Bajaj having a lot of problem with the imports and stuffs. Another thing: Its really not that Ninja is too big or something. Any tall person will have problems while crouching. I am 6 feet and I own an R15. Initially I just wondered how to crouch and I spent a lot of time watching racing videos on youtube. Later after practice, today I can crouch well enough on R15, till the extent that I see through the visor.
Anyhow, coming back to the topic. Given a choice, Ninja obviously is more powerfull. But to make a choice right now: go for R15 without thoughts. Sport bikes/cars are expensive affair. Theres no escape. If Ninja comes later, think about it then. Why would you miss the sport biking fun now?

PS: R15 will not dissapoint you.

                                -Goodluck!
