The only real difference between the 2 is just the front end; effects on which are seen only at high speeds.

Re: which Bike to buy???
Some words from my end.
I can't really figure out as to why do people judge a bike mostly on power. I've seen a lot of 'what bike' query where replies inevitably get directed towards power. Shouldn't power should be 'one of the' criteria for selecting a bike and not the primary one? Is the most powerful human being always the best one?
I'm not pointing to anyone but saying what I feel. Smoothness, build quality, paint, performance, longevity, spares, after sales service, legacy and pride of ownership - all should count as criteria.
Take your decision wisely. Go for what your heart asks for. Close your eyes and imagine which bike you are on after 5-6 years. It's not everyday you buy/change a bike.
All the best!
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

1. Is the heat bearable?
2. How is the reliability of ktm's as of 2015?

Heat is bearable even in extreme traffic condition.Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostHows the Duke 200/390? I want answers to mainly 2 issues:

Reliability has improved a lot, but you will find minor niggles now and then.

Re: which Bike to buy???
D390 does a good job with dissipation with its newer design, the D200 does fairly wellOriginally posted by jack_daniels View PostHows the Duke 200/390? I want answers to mainly 2 issues:

Reliability of KTM depends 70% on how you maintain it and 30% on the SVC guys. This holds true for any Manufacturer (obligatory, "IMO" insert)
That being said, there are some KTM SVCs that are good and there are some that are bad. You need to find out which ones good.

Well said, for example, I would go with the upcoming Benelli TNT25 instead of the D390. (Just waiting for its launch)Originally posted by krishna77 View PostSome words from my end.

My ZMR (current bike) is awesome in terms of reliability. It's bullet proof. Not a single issue in 2 yrs of ownership.
Was thinking of upgrading to a bigger, naked bike. Confused between Ktm duke 200/390. Also, worried abt the heat dissipation of these bikes. Dunno which to prefer??

Re: which Bike to buy???
The heating issue in Dukes and RCs has been taken care of to a great extent based on the customer feedback. For very long rides you might feel the heat.
Reliability is better as compared to their Bajaj counterparts(considering the share the same assembly line in India and almost same supply chain management). Also, it depends on how one maintains it. There are some bikes like Splendor, Rx series, Crux, Karizma, KB series, Unicorn, Activa to name a few which has attained cult status when it comes to reliability.A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Re: which Bike to buy???
1week ago you said you already booked the bike. How do you have the option to change the color 'now'?Originally posted by ravi_m View PostThnks bro...
Again in dilemma... Black or Blue colour
Guys your suggestions are always welcome
Color is something subjective and depends on personal preference. My Color scheme is Red & Black because my complete Riding gear is Red & Black.

Get the blue or red then. Black blends into the road. You want to it stand apartOriginally posted by ravi_m View PostBro.. I have booked bike. But dealer told me to finallise colour atleast week before..

You have made a good decision. One of the smoothest bike in the Bajaj lineup and can double up as a good weekend bike if you plan to ride out sometime
