  • Max. Budget 2L, 250-350 cc, any suggests...

    Hey Guys,

This is my first post on xbhp, I currently own an Apache RTR 180 and planning to switch on something better.
    Need suggestions for the same.
    I need a trustworthy Ride..
I need a bike under 2L and in 250-350 CC..

    My Prefs:
I am not Big Fan of Royal Enfield, don't want a bike weighing more than ever even when I am not on it.
I am not mush obliged with KTM's build Quality just coz it has paired with Bajaj in India.
Faired is out of my league..

I've filtered my opinions for the bike. Please suggest.

    Thanks in Advance

Have you test ridden the Mojo? Check out the ownership thread here on xBhp for more about the bike.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

I can only think of the Mojo or the TNT25 for your requirements ... Though from what I read Benelli's are expensive to maintain. If it is a strict 2lakhs then you can get the TNT25 with MRF's which should put you below that.

The CBR250R is a proven product ... if you want to consider the faired product.

Not much choices actually in that segment for that price range.

Mojo is great product, do check out the reviews and take a TD to make it confirm.
CBR250, a proven machine, but faired.
          RS200, faired again

Do yourself a favor.. get a CBR250R and remove the fairing. Fit a proper Round headlight and you are set to go.. It will not only look great.. you have Honda reliability, refinement and a 250cc bike under 2L

Benellie TNT 25 is a fresh product with the best built quality in 200-250 segement, take a test ride of the same,

If you do not like it, then D200 makes sense.

I'd suggest get a KTM Duke 390. You'd forget everything else. I myself switched from a ZMR bcoz of the bulk. Enough power to last you forever. Initially, I thought it was nothing. But, as the days pass and engine is getting smoother, I'm of the opinion that it's a pure Beast on the road. Sometimes the pick-up scares me. But, you can ride it sanely as well. No problem.
There are very less problems in the 2016 batch. Heating is an overhyped issue. & build quality is pretty awesome. But, most importantly take a TD of each & every bike to see its suitability for you.

Here you GO. This was done by someone on an international CBR 250R forum, someone from US of A, but nonetheless, I liked it instantly.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Yes I've taken test ride of MOJO and it was good. except the console looked a bit small over the 21 L fuel tank and the foot rest were a bit hurdling while in traffic.
I was also satisfied by the build quality but would like to know more about its working over a long period of time.

Can you guide me to the ownership thread.. I tried a lot to find it out yesterday but no luck..

                          Hi Guys,

I like the Build and refineness of CBR too but its faired and about removing the "things" off it. I like to keep my ride stock..

KTM's: I have done small rides on D390 and it was awesome but as KTM's are assembled by Bajaj I am not confident about the build quality.

TNT 25: saw many reviews of the same by powerdrift and all others, It was a bit lower in almost every aspect by Mojo.

MOJO: It is my preference right now but in the long run I don't know anything about the build quality in running. Can anyone help me out in figuring out the same.

Royal Enfield: I am 5'11 at 75 or so.. and also I prefer riding fast sometimes. I like RE's a lot but "not my type."

What about TVS BMW 300R or whatever it was.. any news of it's quality/launching/price/anyhting??

Though both are naked bikes , the TNT25 has more of a street fighter while the Mojo is a tourer. It has a longer wheelbase and is heavier (only6 kgs though). It is never about numbers ... power, torque etc. Its also about how it puts in on the road. So chose one whose characteristics suit you.

The pillion in the TNT25 is better that the one one the Mojo ... based on the seat size. The bike - Mojo - is also longer and taller than the TNT25. So don't expect fast turn-in's.

Its how you feel on the bike thats more important than anything else. Get a TD of both and then decide.

BMW ... well not sure when it will come ... it seems more of an aggressive street fighter look to it. and nobody has ridden it nor are there experience with the bike itself.
When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.
