  • Best bike under 190000.. Pulsar RS200 vs CBR 250r..??

Hi Friends i am Hemanth from Andhra Pradesh. My previous bike was P220 recently i sold it. Now i am planning to buy a stylish & sporty looks bike for long riders as well as city rides..
My height is 6 feet tall i need a bike with smooth engine, performance and decent millage 35-40 kmpl.

i am not a racer i will ride 80-90 kmph mostly.
Recently i ridden Pulsar RS200 but i felt engine is little bit gruff and engine is making lot of noise.. i don't know it's normal or not..??
Friends don't prefer me Dukes i hate naked bikes

There are two bike in mind
    1. CBR 250r
    2.Pulsar RS 200.
So, Friends please suggest me best one.. Thanking You

It would be the CBR250R for me any day! Get a test ride first. Ride it for atleast 5-10 kms and then take the decision. I got the cbr last month and it costed me 1.93 lacs on road here in Bangalore (non-ABS).
The bike is really smooth, powerful and really easy on maintenance. I'm getting around 30-32kmpl here in city traffic.
Keep us posted on your decision

        +1 for CBR250R.
Better tourer than RS200 in every way.
Better fit and finish, better quality of plastics, much smooth and reliable engine make it perfect for touring.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Thanks for replay bro, are you seriously getting 35kmpl millage in city...?? That's great bro. so we expect 40 kmpl in highway..(if we ride 80-85 kmph). What about braking ..?? i heard there is rear brake is not working properly like pulsar 220f..??

            1. It is very good that the rear brakes of CBR250R does not have a ferocious bite which in turn will decrease the chances of cocking and locking up the rear wheel.

            2. I have a pulsar 220 as well as a honda cbr250r, and the braking is much good on honda if not better.

            3. Regarding the mileage, I have personally fetched 38kmpl, upon sedate riding and if you are very very sedate you can cross 40 kmpl too. But that is not going to happen all the time. Expect a steady mileage in the territory of 34-35 kmpl in mixed riding conditions.

            4. If you are very much concerned about the braking part then get an ABS version.

            Cheers,
            Sanjay

              HI Bro thanks for reply
CBR looks little bit outdated .. if we compare with RS200.
What about head lamp, braking performance(rear-brake), and millage..??

Yes brother, it is a bit old as compared to the RS. But go see both the bikes in flesh. Touch the plastics, click the switch gear, take test rides and you will know the difference.
The Fairing in RS is in permanent vibration mode, the plastics quality is no where near Honda or Yamaha, nor is the engine refinement or gear shifting as good as the Japs.
CBR feels like a quality product just by sitting on it. A test ride will clear the rest of confusion.

As for brakes, rear is usually weak as compared to front in sports bikes and sports tourer, because the ratio of braking is 70:30 for Front:Rear. So you are supposed to use 70% of front brakes and only 30% of rear. So any bike from 250cc to 1000cc will have the same setup.

At the end, take test rides and then decide.

Yes bro you can expect 40kmpl on highway. Brakes are really good. I didn't lock up the wheels even once until now. If you can shell out 20k extra then consider the ABS version. Or else go for non-ABS, you won't be disappointed with it too..

Better than 220f. Also braking greatly depends on the type of tire the is fitted with. A good tire like Pirelli will not slip or skid even at hard braking whereas a bad tire like Eurogrip will make the bike slip at a very low speeds.

Again find out a showroom who provides test rides, cause a 10 mins test ride will tell you more about the bike than a week of reading online. Then make an informed decision.

                        All the best.

I was going to say, if acceleration is what you need, go for Duke 200 eyes closed. Nothing matches the feel. But as you are not into Naked bikes, CBR is the 2nd option. Its calm , composed, and an exceptionaly reliable. Pulsar is targeted towards youth. Though its performance is lower than CBR, the flamboyant gadgetry makes a whole world of difference.
