  • What bike to go with?

    Hello everyone,
I am looking to upgrade my current ride which is apache 180. I am a well built 5'11".The riding for the bike would be more daily commute and atmost 2-3 rides a month.
The considerations I have to take in mind:
    1. First and foremost thing is that it should be reliable. As long as I get the bike serviced regularly and maintain it I an fine with it. Taking that into account the build quality should be good.
    2. Then comes the pillion comfort.
    3. Third come the rider comfort for city and long rides.

    I have considered some options:
    1.RE Thunderbird:
I quite liked the bike. It also serves my purpose pretty well. But only thing I am worried about is the RE quality and the constant niggles it has over the time.

    2. Mahindra Mojo:
Now mojo is a bike that took me by storm. The amount of r&d put into the bike from mahindra is just amazing. No doubt it is a solid tourer but the thing I am concerned about mojo is the pillion suffers and I am still skeptical about the Mahindra Service.

    3. Benelli TnT 300
I am totally taken by this bike. Though it is way out of my budget.

    4. Apache 200
After using the 180 for over 6 years I found the 200 to be a huge leap forward. So I may consider this too.

Kindly suggest as to what bike should I go for. May it be from above or if I should consider any other options.

    Thankyou in advance.

If you want a cheap reliable bike, then the A200 would be your best bet.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

RE and reliability are two opposite poles.
Out of your shortlisted bikes, mojo or a RTR 200 would be a proper upgrade.
If you can wait, watch out for the RTR 200 with ABS.
Take test rides and then decide.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Yes. But the other thing i just forgot to write about the 200 is that it would be a very small upgrade. So in terms of cc of the bike I would say the Apache would be the last choice if I couldnt make a decision .

          Consider Honda CBR250R C-ABS.

You haven't considered a few options, the KTMs, forget RC if you want pillion comfort, but trh Duke is always there. What about benelli 25 too?

Eyes closed CBR250 ABS, I will be going for that because I dont want to maintain separate vehicles for city and touring. With my budget of 2L (slightly stretchable to 2.25L), I found this one perfectly fitting.

It can be ridden around inside the city with enough power and grunt on the tap and good mile muncher for the highway getaways. Though people scare you by saying this bike will be phased out etc etc etc, this one sells still in the country with few bikes going out and definitely I hope Honda wont pull the plug on the spares, but availability of the spares might be a bit of pain.

Reliability and pillion comfort? Helmets down CBR250R. If your budget can fit in, Try C-ABS. I don't think you'll not like it after the TD.

Haha... So the CBR is proving to be an underdog here. I had visited the honda showroom for a test ride but it wasnt available. Will ride it soon.Hope I like it..!😋😋

I am actually considering an "upgrade" to CBR 250 (ABS) from my thunderbird 500. I have ridden the bike before. Extremely reliable, comfortable for pillion and rider for city and for highways. Go for it, you can't go wrong with Honda.

I had a very disappointing experience with two of the The Honda showrooms is pune. I am calling them to enquire about the cbr and book a TD but still after 2 weeks of calling and visiting the showrooms there is no test ride vehicle. The dealerships in question here are Pashankar Auto and My Wings Honda.
The excitement for CBR is slowly dying down. 😁😁😁

Please visit kothari wheels which is near tilak road. They have a ABS CBR250R test vehicle available with them.
