Re: Help Me to Finalise Bike for Daily Highway Usage of 100 KM

I own a Fazer fi v2.0 So I will talk in that perspective.

Fazer fi is pretty good for city and does fine on highways too. It will do fine on highways till you are not expecting to cruise 100+ kmph all day.
The bike is absolutely at easy between 80 - 90 kmph and u can much miles at those speeds. I have done 4 long tours till now on my fairly new Fazer and I am happy with it.
The engine is absolutely butter smooth and doesn't let the rider get fatigue. Even if u are pushing the engine hard, the NVH levels are fairly low so you don't feel its getting stressed.

I am fetching 45 - 52 kmpl most of the time. The bike doesn't perform brilliant if u have a pillion and if the pillion is heavy.

I have upgraded the front sprocket to a 15T (Stock was 14T) and that has added to a more relaxed feel to higher speed runs. Though the mad surge acceleration has taken a toll for the same reason.
I cruise at 100 kmph @7000 RPMs now.

Seat is fairly comfortable, though its on the harder side.

Handling is phenomenal ( common with Yamahas), beyond comparison with pulsars.

Bottom line : It will still be a 150cc Air cooled engine, so performance will be lower than a 200cc.

Also. When should we change engine oil from DTSI to Motul and what's the best grade to go for.
Avenger does not have tubeless tires, projector Headlights and also pulsars spares are easy to find when compared to Avenger.

I changed it Immediately after I felt the Dtsi is a shit oil, The DTsi oil which came factory filled was decent but what was changed over to in 1st Service was pathetic, so after running some 700kms of hard gear shifts I changed over to Motul.

Thing about P220 is this has been around close to 8-9yrs and all the Niggling Issues are sorted out, Maintenance is also not high since spares are cheap compared to competitors.

I would strongly advice against 150cc, look their is no replacement for displacement so i would strongly suggest a bike which has good capacity & good power so you are using not more than 60-65% of power when cruising at 80-90Kmph.

      Hope it helps.

And the sporty riding posture doesn't help with the back pain either.
But at the end it will be you who is going to ride it everyday, so choose the one that suits you the best, and feels most comfortable to you.
        All the best.
Yup, so I think need to take a longish TD of P220 to decide further.

Thanks Sir for brief review of Fazer. No doubt they are the best in 150 cc segment with FI as an added advantage.

Your bottom line says something for higher capacity engine which confused me as I will be going to ride mostly on highway where bigger engine matters the most.

Thank a lot Abhilash ji for pinning it down and completely agree with having higher displacement bike. Now, after reading yours and Aadhar, I am more inclined towards P220. Lets see how it will go since I have some time to decide.

Also consider R15S if you can extend your budget a little more. The power of R15 V2 with added comfort.

The bike runs phenomenal on highways. Maintaining triple digits is an easy task. You won't miss higher CC if you own an r15.

Added with liquid cooling and every top end feature a bike should have. The build quality is top notch as its Yamaha and durability is in the genes.

You can ripp the bike bike at 120+ kmph all day and the engine wont complaint. Also fuel efficiency is very decent. Delta frame makes handling top of the line.

The R15 top end is higher than 200ccs ... So do give a though about this option too.

Thanks Bobi Sir, since have some time, will go to Yamaha again and check this. But If I am remember correctly R15S power is less than R15 V2.

                  Sure.

The engines are exactly the same. I really doubt the power difference that is mentioned in their website. Ride them back to back and you will understand why I am saying so.

Y don't u look at RTR 200 once. I own the machine and I'm loving it. Vibe free engine, relaxed seating position and comfortable seats, can ride all day without any backpain.

As you said your 90% ride is on highway then why are you worried about avenger TT tyre.
Considering your height, 100KM daily commute i think you should stick to avenger because no other machine will give you same comfortable riding position.

Done Sir, lets see if dealer here in my city has both R15.

Ya Shri, as per reviews available on Net, Bike seems good. But dealer in my city does not have even a display RTR 200 and I doubt if he is here to stay. Except a Jupiter, no other models are available for display even. Not committing even when asked. That the reason to pul this off from the list. Don't want to get into self registration process. Let me check again if somesthing can be done

neeraj Sir, Thanks for advice. My heart is with Avenger but mind with Pulsar. Reason favoring Pulsar is Tubeless tyres, more power, semi fairing, better parts availability, etc. Pls suggest if still I need to go with Avenger.

Bro - Don't just read on paper thing and decide but think of practicality as well, no doubt pulsar is good bike but for everyday 100KM i won't recommend anything else.
Don't think much and go for avenger 220 street , i also got new 4 days ago it is matte green and awesome look.
You can easily cruise at 100-120 kmph on avenger , i think 1-2 BHP should not be deal broker as you are not going to use it in race where some seconds matter.

I am owner of RTR 200 4v and avenger but i love avenger because of its seating comfort.
