  • What new bike in 7lakhs

    Hi guys,

I am looking to buy a new bike with a budget of anything less than 7 lakhs.

    My requirements

    1. Capable of touring
    2. Decent maintenance - don't have deep pockets
    3. Reliable
    4. Should be able to take pillion in comfort.
    5. Best if it could be with ABS as that helps in long run

What are the best options available. I don't mind even if it's pre owned.

Though I can't go over 7lakhs that's the max cap

    Regards,
    Kailash

    Query Approved

I think your safest bet is the Ninja 650. Tried and tested!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Ninja 650 is best bet as Avinash aka TheMonk pointed out. Maintenance wise shouldn't cost you a bomb. If you really need in depth info about the bike, the very best guy @Sachinnair, he is the man. He has roamed all around India and beyond with his Midori and continuing to do wonders. Such is the reliability of the bike.

Only set back from the above mentioned requirements, is the lack of ABS. Other than that, it ticks out all the boxes. If you are going for a pre-owned SBK, do make sure you are buying from a known source or take a knowledgeable person with you who can help you out in case if you miss any.

      Good Luck.

Even I love the Ninja 650 but only thing that's stopping me is that there should be one with abs soon as the govt rules are changing. But when connected to the dealer he says nothing of that sort is currently happening.

Versys seems little out of budget and when i tested it and is to high for me to manage. I am 5.8 and on the heavier side 104kgs. So versys is little off for me.

If you can stretch your budget, give the new Street Twin a shot. ABS, TTC, decent pillion comfort, usable HP and torque within the city or the highway. Maintenance comes to around 7k for a general service AFAIK. No offense to the Ninja, i love that bike as well, but the Bonnie is just a hoot to ride! And low profile looks, won't grab that much attention! Heads will turn only for the exhaust note.

Versys 650 has all the ingredients. Do have a look at it.

            Cheers,

Both are super contradictory statements!! You cannot buy an Elephant to do a Horse's work & feed it on a Donkey's diet!!

Anyway, V650 is what you should be looking & any info you need this is THE BEST (no BS) review that you can get on the internet as of date - Kawasaki 'Versytile' 650 | MotoHive

                Hi,

Kindly close this thread at the moment as I have picked up the CBR 250R ABS. Now to save money for the versys until next year same time.

Loved the bike but since it was out of budget could not pick it up. Most probably if Kawasaki launches a new N650 with ABS, I will go for that.

Also after looking at all the other options that might get launched next year, I am okay to wait. CBR 250R is a decent bike for touring and with ABS it meets all my requirements.

                Regards,
                Kailash
