My first condition is a bike >=250cc.
So those don't even come in my list.
Also about the CBR 250R, Yes that a perfect beginner bike for someone like me. Good engine, good design. But, i hate the decals on the 2016 model. [emoji24]
The dual tone colour CBR 250R looked really good. Like the black and silver or red and silver one.
So that is why I'm a bit deviated from CBR.
I'm going through a really tough time between choosing the right bike.
I hope you can understand.

When i read your message, i was like even if i have to keep 20k aside for first lot niggle repairs, I'd still go with the Kratos.
Just imagine my condition if i buy a CBR 250R instead of Kratos and then look at a guy riding Kratos beside me.
Damn I'll be like, i should've taken the risk and I'm riding a 5 year old bike.

The only Benelli that can fit in my budget (after stretching it a little bit) is the 25.
And yes about the servicing, I'm sure I'll have to pour money at each service. Plus it looks like combined version of Yamaha SZR and Duke 200. xD
And the 2 months time period I'm talking about starts from this November to December end.
So right now I'm really on a fire. [emoji13]

Check the colours in actual at the showroom ... I chose the red one from the website but when I saw it with my eyes, I was like ... No ways ... then I went to all the showrooms with cash in my pocket & found this color in a remote showroom in Gurgaon & immediately bought it & believe me ... this color & the bike both makes head turn ... amazing quarter litre bike in India ... be it city riding, off roading (returned from Mana 2 wks back where there r stretches with stones & seasonal waterfalls on the roads) or city commuting ... easily flickable, very less aggressive riding posture, comfortable for rider & pillion, ample power, handling, leaning etc etc ... I am a hardcore Honda fan ... was riding a Honda fireblade in dubai for 6 yrs ...!!!

That definitely made me sure that CBR 250R is a worth bike even after 5 years of launch.
Not only the pictures, but the trips you mentioned about.
And yes i agree with you about the red. Its TOO RED. a combination of black and red should've been great.
I've got two questions:
1. Is your bike the ABS one? If not, has the NON-ABS one served all your rides well?
*I mean some WELL experienced almost brake a NON-ABS bike just like the ABS one so they don't have to worry.*
2. You rode a Honda fireblade for 6 years and now a CBR 250R!. That's literally 1/4th of the capacity! Doesn't this bike seems WAAAAYYYYYYY too underpowered? xD

If u know how to brake properly, u dont need ABS ... mine's a std version ... i've ridden the bike at its full engine capacity, but braking has never been an issue ...!!! Proper application of brakes makes the bike stop properly ... my wheels have never locked till date.
Yes I agree, its way too underpowered but there r no roads in India where you can go north of 200 Kmph ... my max speed in India on this bike has been 174 Kmph on yamuna expressway ... in India, dogs, cows, vehicles, humans can appear in front of you suddenly ... so a 250 cc is more than enough for Delhi NCR. Whereas in Dubai, all highways are barricaded so no one comes in front of you ... !!!
Me n my bike have gone uptill 11,000 ft ASL, with ease, climbs easily in the 3rd & 4th gear until its a very steep climb where you have to shift down to the 2nd & 3rd....!!!

That's right, i know its even hard to reach 200kmph over here in India as someone or the other will appear in front of you, who doesn't know how to drive.
And a max of 174kmph on a 250R, i should say you have maintained that bike really well.
Also zeeshan you know, 99 out of 100 people say that ABS is must. As you can't rely on your driving skills but only on luck in India. I'm asking this question because i know spending 20k on ABS in a country like India is worth but the again, i have a really really tight budget.
Can i take the risk of buying a NON-ABS version?

This is wrong. Same bike with same brakes and tires will stop quickly in the ABS version than the non ABS one. Simply because the brakes can do nothing to stop a sliding bike.

I saw a video once where they give same bikes (ABS and Non-ABS) to riders who've been riding for more than a decade.
And surprisingly, they stopped the Non-ABS way efficiently and even some meters before the ABS one.

I must say, that was a really good reply and solved most of my doubts about ABS vs Non-ABS.
I believe the equation is 70℅ front + 30℅ rear = Efficient braking right?
Also about the tires, Everyone is like go with Pirelli, go with Metzler.
I mean different tyres are meant for different purposes right? A specific brand's tire won't be the all rounder in a case.

Rode 15k kms on duke 390 with ABS and brakes were having little bit of less bite as compared to R3 but R3's stock tyres are not worthy whereas duke has excellent metz tyres.

Switch same metz tyres with MRFs on duke 390 you will feel the difference in braking.

So for proper braking apart from brakes tyre do matter whether it's ABS or not. All saying from personal experience.



I don't have any idea on CBR tyres but currently it's coming with MRF which are better than previous conti tyres. Michelins are good option too.

But considering one doesn't even have 20k extra for the bike and he won't be able to buy one if he delayed buying it.

Yes, the brakes on the duke lacks bite, I saw that in PowerDrift's review. But, IMO ABS is really necessary to save us from a crash during panic braking, that's what I have heard from several people. I was even supposed to get my first by now, but the delay in the launch of G310R has left me with the only option to wait for 2017 D390. Will be in the same confusion like [MENTION=87229]Zerocool1431[/MENTION]whether to get it during launch or wait for reviews ABS is a must in my wishlist.
