Dude I've had a ZMA for over a year .And ridden her in pathetic Bangalore traffic (those hu crossed Marathalli bridge every day twice in 2006 wud testify this !! ) but I've never got 25 KMPL. The least I had was 33 KMPL or so !! You are right about riding in low gears, its very frustrating. But we just have to keep in mind that the ZMA and indeed other >200cc bikes have more torque and so we need not rev very high in the first cupl of gears !! Its only when we rev too high in lower gears that there is loss of power and low mileage !! I mean if I kno I hv to stop again in 100 mrts, no need redlining the bike in first 3 gears just to reach there quicker !!Originally posted by Samarth 619 View Post
Anyways, we r veering OT now !! Lets give more inputs to the guy in line with his requirements !!Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

But the fact that Zma is 6 years old now kind of grates now a days !!Originally posted by deepthekool View Post^^^^^^^^^^
zma acceptable...cost 83k
onroad @ bangalore
P220......costs 94k @ bangalore.....its exceeding 14k
If I buy a bike now, I'd still be skeptical about buying a bike which is unchanged since 6 years. Not takin away from the fact that its an amazing bike still tho !!
So basically its RTR 160/180, P200, FZ16 and Zma then !! Test ride and follow your heart !Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!

One of the upsides of buying the Zma is the very fact that its been around for 6 years !
No teething troubles that come with an all-new model. Hence, some trips to the SC for niggling troubles are saved. Purely my observation and opinion. Im not putting it up for discussion if you guys know what im getting at !
Cheers !I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.

But ya the point you made is pretty valid. Other than the new RTR180 everything else has been around long enuff to iron out the problems.Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!

ZiMA is a tried and tested product..which has proven its worth for every penny you invest on it..!!Originally posted by sukant08 View PostBut the fact that Zma is 6 years old now kind of grates now a days !!
Now, coming to new age pulsars..i have a lot of friends who end up at the pbk every two weeks..!!
After riding a ZiMA..i wouldn't go in for the the RTR,FZ,200..!!Originally posted by sukant08 View PostSo basically its RTR 160/180, P200, FZ16 and Zma then !! Test ride and follow your heart !
Just my 2 cents...

A bike that's roughly been through one revision is a safe buy AFAIK. By these personal standards, the Zma, RTR160(Carb), Uni are all safe buys. The new Yammies on the block being Japs shouldn't have niggles either.Originally posted by sukant08 View PostWhat if we still insist on dragging u into it !!

P.S: Shantam Paapam Sukant
Id rather sin like crazy than be dragged into an arguement. Aryan da will e-kick me and rossiter will kick me in person

you love ur bike when u take care of it.....u take care if its little unreliable...its a joy actually...maybe u shud try 200 or 220...or w8 for new model of 220...its worth more than a penny u invested....Zma is kinda old now...but yes a benchmark as well in indian automobile...upto to you..."You not a biker, you nobody." —ME

Bro, I understand where you are coming from, but still the fact is that a 6 year old bike is a bit long in the tooth. Any modern bike thats 6 months old shud have all the niggles sorted out. And most modern bikes these days do not come with too many niggles anyways.Originally posted by inder.cool View PostZiMA is a tried and tested product..which has proven its worth for every penny you invest on it..!!

Regarding ur frnd's Pulsars, I'm sure they had the misfortune to have landed with an occasional lemon !! I dont think that Pulsars r inherently that unreliable !!
Lastly, I've ridden a ZMA pretty extensively when I owned one and have tried the FZ16 cupl of times!! Trust me, if I need a bike for purely city riding today, I'd opt for the FZ. You have to experience the sitting posture on the bike to believe it !!!
But ya, if one has to have only one bike in his stable, then the ZMA still makes immense sense as a jack of all trade bike !!
@Maverick :
Man ur determination on the face of such overwhelming temptation is worth applauding !! I wonder what u fear more ?? Aryan's e-kick or Rossiters he-kick !!
