      if you're considering "premium" scooters like vespa, also consider aprilia sr 150...only recently i came to know aprilia has a f-ing scooty in india lol..i so want to own one :P

            Among the revised options, I'd suggest following -

            1. RTR 200 - Go for ABS if available.
            2. FZ 25- Decent combination of power and economy.
            3. Hornet - IMHO the most sensible buy in 150 segment. Honda reliability, good mileage and power. Comfortable pillion position as well (not sure if that's your requirement though)


            Hero not as good as they used to be during their official joint-venture with Honda. Try these three bikes multiple times, if possible for longer ride and see what you're comfortable with according to your preferences. Also consider proximity to service centres and their reputation - a good/bad service center can make lot of difference in your bike ownership experience.

              Chkd out the hornet ,it's looks good and feels refined (rode pillion for TD)
              It's 102000 OTR Pune
              Liked the combo braking feature

                  Good that you had a TR albeit as a pillion. Now take the weekend to TD the other bikes too and then decide.

                    However GIXXER seems to be a allrounder and overall winner in the 150/160 cc on various reviews on YouTube etc

                      Friends due to family pressure and ALSO pune's b2b traffic with a heavy heart once again cancelled buying a bike and now almost finalised on Honda Activa 125 Disc model which is almost 80k OTR Pune with all accessories.
                      ALSO considering the Suzuki access 125 Disc which is almost 10k cheaper than the same spec Activa ,except it's missing cbs.

                        In b2b traffic, my opinion is that a bike is way better than a scooter. Riding a scooter for long durations result in a lot of stress on the back, bike is better any day. This opinion is based on the fact that I also am in pune and drive both my wife's activa and my bike in pune's b2b traffic. Found a bike way better every time.

                        The reasons imo for your case to go for a scooter is if -
                        * You like a particular scooter and want to drive it
                        * You need something versatile, you can commute as well as have the extra space for when you go shopping, storage space under seat etc
                        * It will be used by you, wife, daughter etc

                        Family pressure will always be there, don't let that stop u

                          Not really sure if bike would be better in B2B traffic. I am saying this inspite of the fact that I ride a R3 and a Ninja 650 in B2B Bangalore traffic for daily commute (40kms total per day).
                          The biggest advantage of a scooter is its automatic transmission and its agility. However if one needs to travel long distances everyday (100kms or more), then might become an issue as on open roads you cant really pull like a bike would. For city B2B traffic I would suggest a scooter unless that person has serious OCMD (Obsessive-Compulsive Motorcycle Disorder) like me (cant think life without my bikes)

                            Well riding a Ninja or an R3 is much different than driving a basic commuter like a P150, Gixxer or even FZ25, they are more 'indian traffic friendly'. But yes you're right, the automatic transmission would save your hands from hurting due to using the clutch non-stop in B2B traffic, for me however I've gotten so used to it, never felt it in many years of biking.

                            offtopic: B2B suddenly reminded me of A2B, Sadly we don't have it in Pune and I'm missing their breakfast combo.

                              Test Driven the NS160 and GIXXER ,
                              The GIXXER has an almost non existent bullion seat and very high too.
                              The ns is slightly better

                              However the GIXXER is to be a solo user bike ,then is apt for avg Indian newbie bikers .
