Its not a roadblock. Read few ownership reviews with zero niggles, hence a strong contender in my list.Originally posted by Issac Praveen View Post
True, still dont like it. NOMOriginally posted by Issac Praveen View Post

Re: Upgrade for comfort from 150cc
Right now only Dominar seems like the go to bike, vfm, loaded with features and owners seem happy with the overall performance, REs have their own share of problems, FZ25 isn't impressive either, lacking ABS as well as performance you'd expect from a 250cc bike, or if you can wait for some more time, we can expect something from the TVS/BMW stable soon!

Re: Upgrade for comfort from 150cc
Since ABS is of utmost importance to you, you have 3 options:Originally posted by xTorque View PostYes, I am. I dont change my bikes until it dies. Classic example is my Unicorn bought in 2006. Heard news that ABS would be made mandate in the coming years, so being future proof.
1. Get Dominar
2. Increase your budget and get Duke 390 or enter SBK class (Ninja 650 and above).
3. Wait till next year and see where does the government mandate for ABS gets us.
On the other hand, none of the REs have ABS. Since its in your list, tells me that ABS is NOT of utmost impotance to you.
Request you to pen down your priorites first which will help you choose.
Do remember that while ABS is a very good piece of tech, it does have its downsides if its not switchable. For e.g it increases your stopping distance in slush and gravel.Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally -> 2020

Is this still available on sale? Havent seen this listed in their website.Originally posted by Siddhanth Paul View PostI'm 5'11" and ride a CBR250. It's not a problem. Seating is comfortable

My requirement is,
1. Comfort (Both on City and Highway)
2. Kinda family bike (City commute)
3. Futureproof
Reason for inclining towards TB350 - long time dream to own it esp. for its stance of drive ability. But the ASS issues are a deterrent now.
Reason for this upgrade - lower back pain while driving Unicorn for my office commute. Seat cushion was completely changed, but still i get the pain.

Re: Upgrade for comfort from 150cc
Ok! I don’t understand what you mean by future proof! If you are worried about ABS being mandate! It will be applicable only to the manufacturers manufacturing new bikes and not on the already sold bikes!Originally posted by xTorque View PostIs this still available on sale? TB350! Well, experience with RE has been really frustrating for many people i know! Unless you are a die hard fan of RE or that you are ready to go after the SVC for the niggles you might face and all of a sudden bike stalling for no reason! You can go for it!
Seats are comfortable but then! You wont be able to cruise above 80 kmph without spare parts falling apart! Thank God you havent shortlisted Classic 350!Splendor - 2k to 2006

Re: Upgrade for comfort from 150cc
1. Comfort -> Get a gel seat for the bike you buy. You can buy for both pillion and rider.Originally posted by xTorque View PostIs this still available on sale? Havent seen this listed in their website.

2. Any and every bike can do city commutes. All depends on how comfortable the rider is.
3. Futureproof???? - I dont think even the Ninja H2/H2R are future proof. Buy a bike for what is it today and continue to enjoy it till you can. No technology in this world is futureproof.
As far as RE is concerned, there are loads of issues with them. Get it only if you are ready to visit the ASS/mechanic often and can bear failures/issues out of the blue.

Re: Upgrade for comfort from 150cc
One more point to add is Gixxer has very narrow and uncomfortable seat for pillion rider.pillion comfort is also one of the points for consideration for OPOriginally posted by Billipro View PostGIXXER is a beautiful machine, for city riding it has everything you're going to need, now comes with Fi & ABS too, low cost maintainance, but the engine is 155 cc. If you want a bigger machine then you've to look somewhere else.

Re: Upgrade for comfort from 150cc
Team, thanks for pouring all your suggestions and i take each one of it by heart/mind. To finalize, i have added a poll to this thread. Please spare few seconds of yours which will help in my decision.
Then how do I get it?Originally posted by Siddhanth Paul View PostIt's not. It has been discontinued. Can't speculate about the newer version too

Where can I source this? Any links??Originally posted by hellgate View Post1. Comfort -> Get a gel seat for the bike you buy. You can buy for both pillion and rider.
Doesnt this depend upon the seat, cushions, seating posture, suspension et al?Originally posted by hellgate View Post2. Any and every bike can do city commutes. All depends on how comfortable the rider is.

Re: Upgrade for comfort from 150cc
You can try the used bike market for CBR 250R. You have option of ABS and non ABS.Originally posted by xTorque View PostThen how do I get it?

Dont worry about tech. In the range that you are looking to buy, they wont start adding new tech like launch control and traction control. So chill!! None of the current bikes, which dont have ABS, wont be getting them anytime soon. Even if they do, there would be a premium in price of around 50k.
You can get gel seat from here: RedLinePlus.in Automotive Products Web Store - RedLinePlus.in Web Shop
Get the bike first, I will get you fixed up with Aditya for the gel seat.
It all depends on you. I have toured on Discover 125 (round trips of 300kms), R15v2 (round trip of 450kms max), Ninja 650 (round trip of 2k kms) and R3 (round trip of 800kms) (heck done about 180 kms round trip on the Activa 125). I have used the R15v2, Ninja, CBR 250R and R3 in B2B traffic in Bangalore as well (daily office commute and stuff). If you see, all of these machines have different traits with regards to seat, cushion, seating posture, etc, but that doesnt mean you cant ride them in B2B traffic. Each one of them has their pros and cons. Every bike will have them. So just get what your heart says. All it takes is a few days/weeks to get used to the ride and then you are good to go.
Yes, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki.Last edited by hellgate; 10-27-2017, 02:57 PM.Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally -> 2020
