Re: Can Duke 390 2017/18 be used to commute in Bangalore traffic?
I loved the power of the Duke 390 ☺Originally posted by TwinCylinder View PostHey, I was also recently considering the 2017 Duke 390 for my Office commute of around 40kms. Once you ride the bike through traffic, not sure you’ll like it as much. It hates being ridden slow and even with ride by wire, power delivery is not smooth at lower revs. Also there’s almost no torque below 4k which would make slow moving/ bumper to bumper traffic a chore. Just my 2 cents.

I really don't like gearless vehicles. I feel more comfortable on big wheels. When I find a road hump or pothole I just stand on my footpeg and skip it easily. I love gear bikes.Originally posted by rejitee View PostI will say, go for a gearless in bangalore traffic drives and keep your D390 for nights out and long runs

Best bike within than 3lakhs for city and sometimes highways
Guys,
I have been riding Yamaha Gladiator since 11 years. I want to upgrad now. For very long distances, I use my car Honda Brio. I have filled up a template with my requirements.
1. Budget : Less than 3lakhs
2. Age:27
3. Height:174cm
4. Weight:66kg
5. Intended usage : Office commute. Sometimes weekend rides on city or highway.
6. Fuel Efficiency requirement (approx., if any) : NIL
7. City & Highway percentage usage : 80% city 20%
8. Approximate Daily / Monthly running : 30 km daily, 1000km+ monthly
9. City / Town /Village of residence: Bangalore
10. Brand / Bike type preference (if any) : Reliable brands.
Please help me guys! I have been researching over YouTube from very long time. Took test ride also but couldn't decide as test rides are short to decide.
Thanks & Regards,
Anoop H.N,
Bangalore.

Re: Can Duke 390 2017/18 be used to commute in Bangalore traffic?
It does not heat up in traffic, the boffins at Bajaj have done a good job at heat dissipation. My brother owned a Honda Unicorn, hated Bajaj because their bikes were used by squids and reliability was an issue. Now he owns a Dominaar and he really loves it!Originally posted by Anoop H.N View PostI'll definitely test ride dominar also. Does it not heat up in traffic?
So i can say reliability has come a long way!

Then go for dominar 400 if you want an Indian bike. The options are endless if you wish to opt for a foreign brand. But do keep in mind the maintenance costs and spares availability.Originally posted by Anoop H.N View PostI want a quick bike

Re: Can Duke 390 2017/18 be used to commute in Bangalore traffic?
I can understand how difficult a situation of choosing a bike is. Well, looking at your requirements, the top two contenders would be Dominar and D390. If budget is not an issue, i would suggest you to buy d390. The console, the looks, the power and the technology is really worth that extra 1 lakh when compared with dominar. I was in a similar state of confusion while deciding a bike for myself a month back. I was sold on the looks of d390 as it matters to me a lot. Dominar looks beefy but not as attractive to me as the duke. Apart from looks, it is way more agile than the dominar. Though i have never ridden a dominar, i find d390/to be quite comfortable for me (i am 170 cm). Yes, it produces a lot of heat but remember that it is 373 cc SINGLE cylinder engine engine with lots of power, so it will produce heat. I would have preferred the heat sink to the bottom than towards left leg. Anyways, all in all, it is great bike to buy. I purchased on 15 oct and i am happy with it.

Can the heat be tolerated? I wear jeans and shoes always while riding.Originally posted by rohit007sr View PostI can understand how difficult a situation of choosing a bike is.
